greenbee - i think this is the kind of thing... this one might even do! I'll have to measure his current one and see if it's a similar size.

That looks very nice, and at a very good price. If not, I've got an old but almost unused ikea one in the same style which I used as a laptop bag - but as it only cost £6 the quality isn't that great! If you want it, however, it's all yours and that would be another thing gone from the house :D (if you don't, it's available to anyone else who would like it).

Suppose I should move really

Just hoovered all of the downstairs and up the stairs and the landing - carpet looks much better now!

Sorted out the resources for literacy for Monday too as colleague has just sent me the plans (we're doing recounts of the school trip).

Off to grab a piece of toast as my dad is taking me to an auction at 11.30 (no idea what type - computers maybe), which will be good, as it'll take my mind off school as I can't switch off and relax at the moment as my brain is in overdrive.

Thank you to everyone for all of your helpful suggestions regarding my science experiments, and thank you to lil_me for saying that the children adore me.

Will be back online later no doubt.

    Take care everyone.

  • Greenbee - I think she's decided to quit uni for now, she's a stress head normally without being pregnant so don't think she would cope very well! So a job it is - but I'm assuming she would have to tell a prospective boss that's she's pregnant, so would hinder her in finding a job, as they won't want her to have time off for scans etc. Temping might be an option I think as they won't be bothered?
Pigpen - so true, but she's still scared! Hope the scan will be soonish

Everyone else - so sorry I haven't commented on all that's going on, heads too full of 'stuff' to remember anything that I've read! Sorry all xx

    Hi all
Hope everyone is well? Loads of hugs to those who need it - again I haven't had chance to catch up on the thread.

The last two days have been OK flying-wise, but I haven't managed to do very much of the lists...but I have finalised DDs birthday party, so that's all booked.

What I have done is as follows:

    Thursday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Clean floors in these rooms
    Clean baths, toilets and sinks[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    Clear any clutter from desk
Dust PC and desk and wipe off those cup rings!! (baby wipes are fantastic for this!!)
Wipe keyboard and mouse (these usually have more germs on than your toilet so important).. And your house phone.. they must be just as vile..
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Wipe down tiles in bathroom[/STRIKE]
Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required Not needed
Clean the brushes/dust box/filters on the vacuum cleaner!!!! .. make sure they are completely dry before using it though.. I don’t want anyone electrocuted!! Not needed.

    Extra mission:
    • [STRIKE]Sort through those half empty bottles or ones with only a dribble left and decant into one bottle and recycle the rest!![/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Wash your bathroom mats etc[/STRIKE]
    • Sort a wardrobe or part of, a drawer or set of drawers making sure it has what needs to be in it and any 'extras' are put where they should be
    • Spend 15 minutes shining mirrors and picture frames
    Friday ~ Childrens/Spare/neglected rooms
    Level One
    Declutter and vacuum the floor
    Change any sticky bedding
Spend half an hour doing somethin gjust for you because you want to or need to!
    Level Two
Tidy away any toys, junk, paper or general gibble
Wash any curtains or soft furnishings that are in need
Drag guff from under the bed and put it in its proper home.
    Level Three
    Dust and deweb
Wipe away any sticky marks from walls or paintwork
Straighten cupboards/drawers that have things trying to escape

    Extras
    1. Wash windows
    2. Binbag dance
    3. HHI
    4. [STRIKE]Find 5 things to sell/give away/charity shop![/STRIKE]
So, not too good then...and I've just noticed there's a weekend list....hmm, let's see what we can do!

Off to town in a minute for some curtain poles - we have vertical blinds at the moment (left over from the people we bought the house from - fag stained and horrible), so hopefully we'll get them put up today. I'll buy curtains in the week.

Few last minute X---s things to get too - mostly cards and wrapping paper though.

    Have a good day all

  • Morning all! Quite tired today but DH and I are off out in a mo if he will ever get ready! He's like this today head%20cold.gif Not sure what's set him off, there must be some mould lurking behind some furniture, will have to have a look this afternoon

Have emailed boots seller on ebay to tell them that they sent me two right feet and no left foot! Wonder what the response will be! I want a refund as the boot I tried on was very narrow and thus too uncomfortable to wear for long.

No buttons in the post today, will have to wait until Monday now

Triker hope you can get some rest this weekend, don’t overdo things with work

Pigpen hope you feel better soon

Julie sorry your observation didn’t go too well, am sure you will do great next time

Sexy you sound like a really good teacher, you put so much thought into what you are going to do with the kids

MOJ2 glad your kids are better

Carlsberggal everything will be fine I’m sure, once it’s here and she sees her baby I’m sure there will be no problem with bonding with him or her!

Lady Liberty, Diva and Sunnyzo :kisses3:

When we get home I must crack on with sewing up cushion cover and have lots of lightbox, it's incredibly grey and dark here today.

Have a good day everyone xx

Auctions are a good source of junk, so you might be able to pick stuff up for your experiments for next to nothing, and I'm sure you'll either be able to resell it or keep it for future classes.

Yes, she'd have to tell them, and she wouldn't be entitled to more than statutory maternity leave in most places as she's already pregnant. Temping is a good idea - there is always shop/bar/waitressing work over Christmas while she works out what other options are realistic. What was she studying at uni - if she can find something that is relevant, then it will help with both the job and when she goes back, as there'll be some continuity.

I'm sure it will help her to have something to keep her mind off her situation too, as going to work every day will bring a bit of normality into her day, and she'll be with people who won't necessarily know much about her and her situation.

I really MUST go now!!! I need to go shopping in two different towns today  and I'm not even dressed!
  • Mudbath - meant to say thanks for the nice post about me!!! And no, I'm far too young surely to be your mum, 45 but looking at least 109 at the moment!! LOL
