I've just heard that my son's fiancee's mum is stuck in Tenerife because of this - has had to pay £200 with Ryanair to get home on Sunday.
Sounds like she paid by credit card though so she can claim the cost of those.0 -
I have a family memeber who works for them but is currently off work. He has friends (both pilots and cabin crew) who are are stuck in Saudi Arabia and have been told they need to make there own arrangements to get home! Just awful.0

they will not get the Ryanair flights refunded through the credit card as they are using them0 -
We have flights only booked for next week:eek: Booked these direct with Globespan, paid by credit card, does that mean we will not get money back?
Need to look for alternative flights now:mad:0 -

Section 75 covers you for consequential loss. As the airline went bust and this forced you to pay for flights to get home you are covered for claiming back this amount. What will matter is that the return flight cost at least £100.0 -

Yes you are covered.0 -
Wrong. They are covered under section 75, even to the extent that if they had bought first class tickets with the company that went bust they were intitled to buy F tickets with another airline and reclaim the full cost of the ticket, which is what we did when MAXjet went bustthey will not get the Ryanair flights refunded through the credit card as they are using themThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

I fear you are correct.
And genuinely I am saddened by this.
Scotland has few enough travel options. But both flyglobespan and Zoom offered something - obviously not sustainable
Maybe us Scots should never go abroad........
Sad day as it only leaves Scotland with less options I liked Globespan. never had any problems.Great flight times. Only Easyjet and Ryanair to Europe now with lousy flight times.
Mr O,leary will be liking his lips at this one. Lets hope he dosn't try to divert from Prestwick to Glasgow as that would be the end of that airport as well.0 -
I booked flight only (directly on their website) for August 2010 with a Maestro card. Does anyone have any information on whether there is any hope at all, or whether the money is gone forever? :-(0
