we always shop at tesco. spend a small fortune with them, as our clubcard deals will tell.
recently we have been sold appalling produce. pork that was well within date but stank to high heaven [exchanged], mince going off well before the sell by and even use by dates, and tonight the chicken fillets 'use by 17/11/09. stinking like !!!!. great, no dinner.
therefore whom do we complain to as this is getting well beyond a joke. oh yes they will replace if we take it back but obviously tesco are now selling produce that is unfit for purpose regularly to not only us but others. should we ignore this? no. it could make someone very ill.
the problem IS NOT our fridge.
complain now or wait until someone goes to the press because their child is made seriously ill through tesco and their shoddy workmanship.
sorry. im angry. my dinner which i was looking forward to is now not to be. again.
thanks tesco you incompetent muppets. if i want to eat !!!! and make myself ill i would shop @ lidl.

While I work for Tesco, I'll try not to take the incompetent muppets part to heart. It sounds to me like like their meat and poultry chillers aren't working correctly if you consistently have meat going off before the useby date, and if it isn't your own fridge. I don't think you'd get very far with just an assistant at the customer service desk so I'd recommend you call customer services, as this way the complaint will be escalated to the store manager. The number is 0800 505555. I'd give them a call, and calmly and politely tell them that you want to bring to their attention the amount of products you've had to return recently and you think there might be a problem with their chillers. That should get them into the place where they try to get their chillers fixed, you get better meat on next visit and maybe even a wee goodwill card for your troubles.0

Im guessing you have never shopped at Lidl before as that is the sort of comment i would expect from an ignorant snob. There are many products i would much prefer to buy from Aldi or Lidl than Asda/Tesco/Sainsburys.
Every supermarket whether Waitrose or Aldi all have to follow the same basic laws with regards to food hygiene and the SOGA, so don't start slating a company just because they are cheaper and have a different public image.0 -

If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

One explanation could be that the food your bought was selected by another customer, whizzed around the shop for a couple of hours and put back by the customer. The man without a signature.0

Not wishing to conduct ones weekly shop surrounded by Chavs and benefit cheats does not make one a snob!!
Hmmm, we are a professional couple have a household income of £75k pa and we shop at Lidl, much prefer to have our earnings spent on other things than overpriced crap from some of the mainstream supermarkets, never been on benefits in my life and am definitely not a chav.
Get off your high horse and stop stereotyping peopleAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Your signature suggests you are not the upstanding responsible, financially astute couple you claim to be.
A couple who can't budget a £75K Salary and end up a whole years salary in debt SHOULD be shopping in pound shops!!
Maybe if you had lived within your means you wouldn't be trying to dig yourself out of your mess now.0 -

Just makes one ignorant. I've seen more chavs in Tesco/Asda than I ever have in Lidl/Aldi.
I know people who earn £40/50k a year who happily shop at Aldi and Lidl. I wonder if it's the less well paid people who desperately want to look like they earn more that have a low opinion of Aldi/Lidl..."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0
