Your signature suggests you are not the upstanding responsible, financially astute couple you claim to be.
A couple who can't budget a £75K Salary and end up a whole years salary in debt SHOULD be shopping in pound shops!!
Maybe if you had lived within your means you wouldn't be trying to dig yourself out of your mess now.
Really? You have no idea how our debt was amassed therefore have no authority to comment and I hardly consider ourselves to be 'in a hole' considering that fact that after ALL our outgoings, we have over £2500 a month SPARE CASH, having paid off over £25k in just over a year I think personally makes us very financially responsible.
Again this just proves how much you stereotype people, so no one with debt is 'upstanding or astute' are they? and I suppose you have no mortgage or have never had any debt at all, never purchased a car on finance?
I'm glad the world isn't full of small minded narrow visioned people such as yourself, enjoy your tesco shoppingAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Why has MSE recently descended into a bitter and nasty place to vist, with all this name calling?
In my experience Tesco doesn't sell 'off meat' and has been suggested it may be something to do with the chillers rather than the quality of the meat - yet the OP has chosen to ignore this useful post.
Personally I have no gripe with Aldi / Lidl - apart from the range isn't big enough in my local one to do a weekly shop!2014 Target;

Not wishing to conduct ones weekly shop surrounded by Chavs and benefit cheats does not make one a snob!!
ive not come across chavs and benefit cheats when i go to lidl and when i worked at aldi, must be the area then, some stores are situated in really bad areas
back to the OP's question, id call tesco and just mention you have returned x amount of fresh meat due to the quality, remember to stay when on the phone as its not exactly the phone operators fault0 -
Blimey, this is the second thread I've read tonight which has turned into a slanging match....
Are we talking the same branch in all cases?
My take on it would be to go straight to your local trading standards - if you've still got the meat, they may arrange to come and collect it and possibly run tests on it. Eitherway, they'll investigate it on your behalf to try and i.d. the route cause such as faulty chiller units which has already been mentioned.
I'd do this rather than going through Tesco because in my experience with a green branded 4 letter named supermarket, the item I returned subsequently got "lost" between the store and head office.0 -
We are an amateur couple and have an income of £5000pa and we shop at Farmfoods. I wish we could afford to shop in Lidl but you can't have everything in life. But hey, at least we are debt free0

Or, a "filler" in the store who isnt careful enough so as not to pierce the meat packing. One pin !!!!! size hole will not be visible, but will be enough to send the meat off.0 -
Im guessing you have never shopped at Lidl before as that is the sort of comment i would expect from an ignorant snob. There are many products i would much prefer to buy from Aldi or Lidl than Asda/Tesco/Sainsburys.
Every supermarket whether Waitrose or Aldi all have to follow the same basic laws with regards to food hygiene and the SOGA, so don't start slating a company just because they are cheaper and have a different public image.
im not an ignorant snob thank you very much. i once worked for lidl @ their redhill store and i was told under no uncertain terms if i didnt put the green chickens back on display for sale [within their dates but going green and stinking] i would be sacked on the spot.
so dont call me a snob for not wanting to shop in such a shithole of a company. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -

not necessarily classing you but hey ho. you think you fit then feel free to fit in there.
i asks a question and am met by crap from most people and those who speak sense then start accusing me of ingorance,
MSE HAS GONE TO THE !!!!ING DOGS. IS IT ANY WONDER THIS PLACE IS GOING DOWN HILL AND THAT REGULARS TEND TO CONGREGATE AWAY FROM THE PLACE WE ONCE CALLED HOME?There's someone in my head, but it's not me0 -
OP.. make yourself some sardines on toast or something. Having something to eat might make you calm down a little bit. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
