can someone tell me what the case equivalent is of 2000, is it 10 pounds?

    That's correct.

You take the number of points and half them, and then this gives you the amount in pennies. Add the decimal point before the last two digits to get the amount in pounds and pence.

    2000 divided by 2
    1000 pennies
    10.00 pounds

    Agreed.

I really don't understand why Nectar have to have it so complicated and not the same system as everyone else... 1 point = 1p. It's just stupid.

No problem when you are dividing whole thousands, but if something on their site is 1680 points it nearly takes calculator for some people to work out the 'real' cost..

I think it's pure marketting - It suggests the idea that "Nectar must be better than Clubcard because you get 2 points per pound spent".

Plus it makes vouchers look better - 25 free points when you buy x - makes it look like you're getting more than 12.5p off.

I have about 100,000 points...I've never used them...feels a bit of a "waste" to take them off my shopping

I was wondering about exchanging them for a £500 Expedia voucher...

  • After shopping around for a slow cooker I found one from sainsburys which was on offer for £23 reduced from £30. I used some nectar points to puchase it and its now cooking away for the first time, I'll have to look at other sections on this site for some receipes.
    Thanks for all yr ideas.

I know what you mean, you want to get something special ...

How about buying yourself a present in Sainsburys or Argos, or paying for Xmas or party food shopping, rather than the normal weekly shop
  • I generally use mine at Argos. I used some Nectar points and had a £10 voucher from surveys, so I bought myself a new Ipod 5th gen(6gb) for £85.

Hand your card over at Argos, they swipe it and tell you how many ££'s you have to spend.
Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.67
