What's the best way to use nectar points ?

I use mine at Sainsburys to buy the gift vouchers that they sell for other stores - e.g. £20 nectar points becomes a £20 Next voucher etc. TBH I do this after I've spent far too much in the Next VIP sale. It helps to assuage the guilt!0

From time to time they send an e-mail with offers such as reduced points for a case of wine. I got my Sony MP3 when they did an offer for reduced points, so might be worth waiting if you don't want anything specific at the moment. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!0

crikey i've clocked up over 20,000 points lol
i never knew i could spend them in argos!! and what a fab idea buying vouchers for other shop's i'd never thought of that!It only seems kinky the first time.. :A0 -
I'm lazy so I've never spent mine - think I only have about £16 worth - can you put them towards the cost of something at Argos or does it need to cover the total cost?
Thanks0 -
You swipe yor card at argos. For every 500 points they will take off £2.50. You tell them how many points you want to use eg 500, 1000 etc, then pay the extra with cash/card.0

Go to www.nectar.com and if you're not already registered there you should be able to with your nectar card number, then you can see your points statement, update address details, see what online shops you can collect points with and where to spend them.
We usually use Argos to spend points at (they just swipe the card) and collect points at Sainsburys and Amazon.
This is strange. Followed your link and tried to register. It says to only fill in three of the fields to activiate the account. There are four asterisks by the mandatory fields. Have tried filling in three and then four and both times get a message saying they don't have enough information!??
I would have liked to join this. Is this happening to anyone else?Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

There is a very simple way of effectively spending your Nectar points anywhere. How?
Lets assume you have 10000 points which is worth £50. At your next Sainsbury outing ask them to reduce your bill by the £50 worth of points.
You now have either an extra £50 in your pocket or on your credit card.
You now have £50 to spend anywhere!!0 -
I have accumulated around 16000 Nectar points and am looking to spend them for Christmas. In sharp contrast to Tesco Clubcard deals where point spent on the deals can be up to 4x their value, the Nectar site can offer poor value for customers, for example I was looking to purchase an iPod dock/radio and would have to use nearly £80 of Nectar points, however the same item delivered from Amazon for example is £54
so be careful.
