Hi guys
Sorry for the delay, the meeting went on a bit and it was late by the time I got home.
Well wedding planner turned up looking nervous as hell. She was, at first, just trying to get us to talk about menus etc, but OH stopped her and asked how she managed to mess up so badly. She admitted that she had been totally at fault and not paying enough attention to the forms and was trying to be clever and do a big batch of weddings at the same time on two laptops. She tried to recify it as soon as she realised, and admitted she hoped she had done it in time so we wouldn't know but clearly the form got sent out in the incorrect name. She showed us the booking in the correct names she had. She clearly realised the 'matey' approach was not for us and was MUCH more professional with us.

Yes, she stuffed up and yes, I still think a personal email address is not very professional. BUT when we walked in, we remembered that the venue is perfect for us, its small but cosy. The whole hotel is ours for the whole day!

We didn't just roll over and made it clear that we could still cancel if she stuffs up again, so to help win us over, she is doing the evening buffet for 60 people at half price! Sparkling wine is upgraded to Champers and our hotel rooms have been discounted (again) :D
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

That's brill Franny, and good to you for not just accepting an apology and rolling over.

Fingers crossed she has learnt her lesson and will be extra cautious now! x

• Excellent news Franny,
On the personal email note, my hotel planner uses the hotelname@hotmail.com so they arent the only ones.
I hope it all works out for you and your day goes as you want
• Yey, well done :D

Awww great result honey! At least now she knows she is treading a very thin line with you guys and you will, hopefully, get a much better service form her. Loving that you got all the discounts, upgrades etc. Well done xxx:T

Thank you all for the support. Knowing you all agreed she was unprofessional definitely help us be firm and not just take the emailed apology as the end of the matter. We were clear that it was not acceptable, apology or not.

We were on great terms by the end of the meeting and now feeling positive as she does seem to get a genuine 'kick' out of making it as magical as she can for every couple she deals with, but now understands we are hardly a 'blushing 20 something couple' but rather 'almost 40 something, been around the block' types who require a certain level of professionalism as that is how we expected to act in our own profesional lives.
