Thinking of cancelling venue!

• I would say to the venue, it's either me or her. I organise my wedding, or you carry on letting her and lose my custom. :D

I have just chatted to OH about this, we think this may be a problem, the venue is very small and it appears that the staff are all friends. The wedding planner does everything including table decorations etc, to not have her I think will mean that things would be 'difficult.

Interestingly, we've just this second recieved another email, much longer and much more grovelly. Wanting to meet us asap to discuss everything.
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
• Hey, Maybe this way you can say you've had a lot of hurt from this problems and as a way of saying sorry you want xx% off the final bill ;)

Oh Franny that's pants!!

(Cross with you for worrying about it and not sharing your upset tho ;))

Have to say, it doesn't sound too good does it.

I was gonna say cancel and pay the extra where you know you will get good service, BUT I've just read your last couple of posts where she has now grovelled and wants a meeting.

Go to the meeting and see what she has to say for herself. She shouldn't have laughed when you told her about the c0ck up with the name (where the chuff did she get that name from anyway?!), she should have apologised profusely and sorted it out ASAP.

I wouldn't have been happy with a personal email address either and the way she is communicating back with you ~ and !!!!!! is her MOT got to do with you? She doesn't sound very professional considering she has done it for so many years.

Good luck with the meeting hun, let us know how you get on xx

Thanks Shell, it appears she got the name from OH's email address which is fagpaper@hotmail etc, She had now admitted that she just copied that in the booking form for reg, even tho we've picked her up on OH name more than once because of the common Mc/Mac problem.
We are still looking at the cancelling route, I sold my Wii for the wedding budget and that would basically be what we lose, though I would fight to get it back.

Basically we don't feel she's very professional at all, she seems to want to be 'mates' and all 'chatty' but this is the one thing that bothers us, because she doesn't see that we are worried about things. She had claimed she was on hoilday and only got our message today, however the receptionist, who laughed, said nothing about this.

Who the Fk (sorry I'm angry) takes a name from an email address to mean that is the persons name?! How stupid is that?!

Surely when you booked, she had both your names? So Miss Franny Laura Smith and Mr Thomas Norman Jones?(examples of course lol)

I can't believe she used the name she did, I know what name you mean cos I remember your OH......is she thick?

I dunno whether to laugh or cry for you!

If you do decide to cancel, I would go to the top and ask them for your deposit back ~ how can you trust someone on the most important day on your life, to sort things out if they can't even get your blinkin names right, for official paperwork to marry?!

Yes, she's had both our names from the start and yet continues to spell it wrong, OH is not a happy bunny as its spelt wrong all the time, this time is actually meant we couldn't even book to give notice!!! We will update after the meeting.

Yo fagpaper! ;):rotfl:

Any letters you have or any emails from her, print them off so if you cancel, you can go to the top and ask for your refund so you will have proof with what you are cancelling over. (and you haven;t just changed your mind as I can imagine quite a few couples do).

Good luck to both of you! x

Fran, you can't be mates. You are her client and she needs to remain professional at all costs. Yes you can be friendly and polite but mates? nope. I can be friendly here but if someone from the forum commissions me then I have to slip into professional mode. Oh, and hotmail for business? I don't think so. Go with your instincts on this, especially the misspelt names. Not acceptable. x
