Shell, OH sitting here and says hello! And he agrees completely with everything you say! Yes, she's had both our names from the start and yet continues to spell it wrong, OH is not a happy bunny as its spelt wrong all the time, this time is actually meant we couldn't even book to give notice!!! We will update after the meeting.

    Awww Franny
really sorry to hear you are having issues with your wedding co-ordinator. Sounds like she has really messed up. Getting your names wrong once is a mistake but this many times is ridiculous . She is really taking the p! I can totally understand why you and OH are so angry, I would be. If I didnt know better, I would think you were getting married at our venue from hell :rotfl:!!!! Good luck with your meeting, stick to your guns and don't let her worm out of it. Do as Shellsuit says and take all documents with you (I know you will as you have given me such sound advice LOL!!).
Let us know how you get on. :D

    Thanks all!
Beks, well you've coped sooooo well with your place, I owe it to do the same! :D I have all the emails printed out and the letter from the registrars office address to Mr Fagpaper. She has sent another email, bascially admitting that she was at fault and filled in the online form wrong. She is saying she has never done this before and is asking to meet on tuesday.

Linda, my thoughts exactly. You were so professional even with my teeny tiny comission.

I took the OH to the second venue today and he prefers that, mainly due to the professional way we were treat even just for a 'pop in' visit, Even though the photo's op's are not as good as the first venue. The inside of our venue is pretty fab and would mean that even if the weather was awful we would have great places for photo's.

We are going to see what 'dozy knickers' (loving that :rotfl:) has to say for herself. I think that the deposit may have to be given up if we don't go ahead as, unlike Beks, there is no real 'breach of contract' she's just done silly stuff wrong.

Ahh but she has done something which isn't silly, otherwise fagpaper wouldn't have been on the phone for ages trying to sort out the wrong name. ;)

I'd still ask for the deposit back, don't ask, don't get! She can only say No, but I'd still try x

She claims she had emailed to sort it out, which is a load of bull as fagpaper had phoned to sort it himself. If we do cancel, I will ask for deposit back formally via a letter, CC'ing the manager in, but as its £180 I won't go as far a threatening court as it cost that much to get it back!

Franny, if you like the other venue more, I would be more than inclined to go for it. Particularly if it is not weather depending and you would be able to relax more
knowing that it was in good hands.

If it gets to the point of you writing for your money back - you need to quote The Supply of Goods and Services Act (1982) - wherby works should be carried out with due care and skill (see I have learnt something in all this :p!!)and this has obviously not been the case with you and fagpaper  (I do wonder if a name like that exists lol - I bet the registrars had a laugh at that!). They may say no but worth asking. If she is making stuff up then I would be so inclined to go elsewhere, that is horrendous and her attitude has not been at all professional. She may not care but this is your special day and you could do without unnecessary stresses like this.

    Good luck for Tuesday.

PS I did think the other day that you had gone quiet and now I realise why. I did wonder if you were ok!

Thanks Beks, I was busy trying to sort stuff out and didn't want to come and whinge!! I am ready and willing to use that Act though! The registrars were so lovely, when I spoke to one and told him OH real name, they went 'oh! I see what the problem is' and told me that the mistake was firmly with the venue!

Definitely use the power of the Act!! You will come across as knowledgable in the area and a force to be reckoned with!!

Good luck for Tues (i'm away for a couple of days after tonight so will catch up then) and do not let it spoil the rest of the wedding planning!! Think beautiful wedding thoughts!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Wardi, don't feel very knowledgable at the moment as I let it get to this point without kicking up more of a fuss as I liked the venue so much it clouded my misgivings!
I had thought about quoting the Act but at first discounted using it as she had attempted to rectify the isssues but with hindsight I can now see that the mistakes have continued therefore there is a continuing failure to give 'due care and skill'

Thanks to all of you, mainly for not saying I am a great big whinge bag!
