Zero Feedback Bidder didn't contact me before bidding

I've sold my phone to the next highest bidder as that other guy made no further contact. He was just wasting my time. What a loser!
Don'r forget you have now paid two full sets of final value fees!
You have been rather prompt with this and there is a chance the original bidder will still pay which will mean you can't even open an NPB on them to reclaim one set of fees.
Hopefully you hear no more and can get the dispute opened and closed before they realise and recover your fees.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Anyone else hoping the original winner pays? Yet another seller that doesn't understand how ebay works, and just wants it their way.I've sold my phone to the next highest bidder as that other guy made no further contact. He was just wasting my time. What a loser!
Were constantly selling to people with <5 feedback, get probably one problem in every 50 sales at the most (we're expecting more now Christmas is approaching, though. Buyers that seem to believe in the existance of teleport post...).
Everybody on ebay started with 0 feedback, even you did.
You won't let them buy, a lot of people won't buy from 0 feedback sellers... how are they supposed to get feedback without purchases or sales?Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

I very rarely look at a buyer's feedback, the only time is if they've taken a bit too long to pay, there's an odd one with zero feedback, but generally the few non payers I get can have any amount of feedback. Mostly the higher feedback members are the slower payers.DaveAshton wrote: »Anyone else hoping the original winner pays? You were right Dave. I just received 3 emails from Paypal saying that this winning bidder had paid for me the phone and he even gave me £40 on top of the winning bid. That of course was just to cover the international shipping to Nigeria. If only I had waited before I offered the phone to someone else.
Who doesn't understand how e-bay works? I have no problem selling to a 0 feedback buyer as long as they contact me with correspondence that isn't obviously sketchy.0 -

Ok that was a scammer, but you do need to understand that there is no requirement at all for a buyer to contact you before bidding.
Set your seller preferences correctly, maybe even for phones put a note in your auciton terms that you do not ship overseas and are aware of the 419 scams and you will be fine.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thought it was a playstation 3 or did you have 2 auctions both with 0 FB bidders?
(note to self - go and register with every site on the internet in the view that one day I might want to use them and to avoid suspicion by registering the same day that I want to make a purchase )
Ok so this one was a scam but your buyer of the PS3?? may not be.0 -

oops - sorry my mistake :embarasse0 -
Hi Guys, hoping someone can give me some advice please!
Currently selling a play station 3 on ebay (auction due to end soon). Made it quite clear in the ad that zero feedback bidders were to contact me first before bidding (I know we all have to start somewhere so just wanted contact first).
Anyway, a zero feedback bidder has put it a bid and hasn't contacted me. Anyone been in this situation before??? Can I just cancel the bid as they didn't contact me first as asked?
If they place the winning bid can I just say "no" to this bidder???
Cheers, cats!
Instead of stating contact first if zero feedback why don't you just set buyer requirements either for all listings or just single listings so that someone with less than the feedback you set cannot bid. That way if they truely want the item they will have to contact you first because their bid will automatically be refused.JULES
