Zero Feedback Bidder didn't contact me before bidding

Awaiting the thread
I got a Neg because a 0 Feedback bidder didn't contact me so I sold my Phone/PS3 to someone else..... Its so unfair (put feet stamping noise and tantrum Here)
ummmm..... come on some people have a life and wouldn't lose any sleep over getting a negative feedback on ebay especially if there was a good reason.
And I just received an e-mail from ebay regarding my fees. They also gave me this advice.
Moreover, please know that eBay provide you with several ways to reduce
your exposure to buyers who may make sales difficult. Here are some tips
to help ensure a positive experience with potential buyers. (See below
for complete details.)
- Specify buyer requirements
By specifying certain buyer requirements, you can manage the types of
buyers that you'd like to receive bids from. For example, you can block
bids from anyone with a negative Feedback Score or anyone who has
received an Unpaid Item strike. For more information on specifying buyer
requirements, go to:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/buyer-requirements.html
- Block bidders and buyers
If you know that you don't want to sell to certain members, you can put
them on your blocked list. Members on that list won't be able to bid on
any of your listings unless you remove them from the list. For more
information on blocking buyers and bidders, go to:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/manage_bidders_ov.html#blocking
- Cancel questionable bids
You can cancel any bid for any reason during the auction. If you
discover that a member with a questionable history has bid on your item,
cancel the bid and politely request that the member not bid on your
listings in the future. For more information on canceling bids, go to:

Instead of stating contact first if zero feedback why don't you just set buyer requirements either for all listings or just single listings so that someone with less than the feedback you set cannot bid. That way if they truely want the item they will have to contact you first because their bid will automatically be refused.

You are completely at liberty to remove any bids or block anyone you want, that has never been in doubt. What you can't do though is try to cancel a sale after someone has bid and won your goods. You also cannot insist that buyers contact you before bidding, all you can do is remove bids if you see them in time if you are not happy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No one ever said you couldn't but you cannot force people to contact you beforehand. I'd also love to see you cancel a bid in the last 5 seconds of an auction. If they win you need to follow the processes even if they are or not a scammer. Otherwise your just putting yourself in a more awkward position.
There seems to be some extreme paranoia going around about zero feedback bidders. I sell items that can be seen as a target for scammers, but I get very few problems I think thats due to the way I set my listings and seller preferences. Zero feedback bidders frequently win and pay and are no problem. I have more problems with those so called experienced ebayers trying to pull a fast one.
If people don't want these customers I will quite happily have them0 -
I think the zero feedback buyers are the new 'who leaves feedback first ' threads.
Is ti worth removing one of the out of date sticky threads and putting one up about seller preferences instead I wonder?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There must be a reason people are wary of zero feedback buyersthough, probably because they often encounter problems. And if people are genuine they shouldn't mind sending a quick message before they bid, I know I wouldn't.0 -
You can't block bidders with zero feedback
Please explain why not as I have set up buyer requirements so bidders need more than a feedback of 5 to bid on my items. So therefore if they have zero feedback how can they bid as its not more than 5? I can't see anywhere on ebay that this does not include new ebayers.JULES

Go read what you have actually set as it is NOT possible to block bidders with a positive feedback unless they do not have a card registered. Therefore if they have a card registered but have zero feedback they can still bid:
You have this section:
Buyers with a negative feedback score
Block buyers who have a feedback score of -1-2-3 or lower.
This requirement can help you avoid buyers who have received more negative than positive feedback from other eBay members bidding on your item.
and this one:
Buyers with no credit card on file
Block buyers who do not have a credit card on file.
Only apply this block to buyers who have a feedback score of 543210 or lower.
When blocked buyers place a credit card on file, they'll be allowed to bid on or buy your item.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
