Suki, I hope your not meaing me? I certainly did not mean any offence or upset with my opinion and did not think for one minute that my views on UGG boots would upset someone.

Although thats my opinion on them I also think that if you feel confident and comfortable wearing certain things then good on you, enjoy wearing it, as long as your happy with how you look it doesnt matter what other people may think .

Can you let me know where you got these, please? I'm looking for some but everywhere I've looked only seem to have suede ones (which will get ruined in the rain). Thanks!

  • Age does play a big part in style, but it's all about adapting a look and making it work for you. I'd say a 20 year old would wear a thigh high boot a lot differently to a 30 year old - maybe the 20 year old would team hers with some denim shorts, leggings and a band tee, whereas a 30 year old might feel more comfortable in classic skinny jeans, a tunic top and a smart jacket. It depends on personal preference too, though - I'm 23 and would choose the skinnies over the shorts any day.

As long as what you're wearing reflects who you are and makes you feel good, what's the problem? You'll look fab. :)

can I just ask...if YOU like them...why do you care if they are acceptable to others? If you wear them and they make you feel good, that is what will be reflected to those that see you in them. Anyone else, who cares? Probably just jealous that they dont have the guts to wear them, themselves. ;)

My personal opinion would be that they may look a bit much on someone over 30.
I would not contemplate wearing them, and I have seen them on much older women than 35, and even with nice figures they just looked wrong, but as I said its personal opinion.

Maybe Im just jealous, as I imagine I would never get them in my size!

Go try them on and take a photo of yourself in the mirror and take it home to contemplate and see how you feel.

  • Hi

I don't know if it's your thing but I've just ordered some over the knee boots from Additions. They are "leather-look" and £40. Personally I'll only wear them out in the evening, not during the day time but then suede is more daytime isn't it?

I hope you find some you like and feel comfotable in.

(PS I am 28 and have a 6 year old son so not exactly leading a glamorous life!)

Up till this year, I never liked high leg boots on anyone,
but now I'm totally changed my tune and think that with the right style and outfit they look fab on anyone of any age. It's not how old/young/tall/short/thin etc you are, it's how you wear them.

My parents are buying me these for Christmas (they were £35 when they ordered them) and I tried them on yesterday and they are amazing.
I'm tall (5'10) and they come just above my knee, I was worried they wouldn't make it that far!

Well, I've just bought a pair of OTK boots and I'm 52 (if it matters!), they are flat, brown 'suede'. I am 5'8" and the boots come over my knees, although they are shaped at the side, they are soft, warm and comfortable.

DD has given them her vote of approval which is good enough for me as I trust her judgement but to be honest, there's nothing 'extreme' about the way I'm planning to wear them, so I don't know what all the fuss is about!

I plan to wear them casually during the day with thick tights or leggings and long layered knits/ jumper dress/ chunky long cardi etc. I feel very comfortable about wearing them. It's fun to keep your style updated.
