Thigh high/above knee boots?

Has anyone got a pair? Do they stay up?
I 'm not normally into this sort of footwear, but I've recently been living in leggings with my knee boots, and all the celebs look great in theirs, so is 35 to old to wear thigh boots? Primark have some black suede ones that I love, but I dont want to look stupid!

  • Hello Miamoo,

I really like those thigh high boots but I am 44 so I don't want to look like mutton etc. I haven't seen the ones in Primark, but I will look next time I'm in.
Why don't you go and try them on? Have a good long look at yourself from all angles. I bet you will look great, as 35 is just a young girl. My 17 year old son is the arbiter of good taste in our house and always lets me know if I am dressing too much like his girlfriends. Have you got anyone around like that, to stop any sartorial errors?
  • You have to have 17 inch or less thighs to wear them, age doesn't come into it;)

My friend is in her 50's and looks great in hers ......but she does have a fantastic figure and long legs :D

I'd try them on and see how they looked, if you think they look good then wear them by all means!
  • first off, my mum is in her 50s and wears them so no, 35 isn't too old! And I believe they do stay up, though she has leather ones rather than suede ones so I'm not sure what difference that would make to their staying up power.
  • Thats fantastic. So 50 really is the new 30. I'm not sure about the 17inch thighs though. Not with the amount of chocolate I have been devouring on these long dark evenings.

I am in my early 20's and I have some flat over the knee leather boots. I love them!!:D
I dont like the ones with a heel though i think on most people they can look a bit tarty.

I do think over the knee boots are for people under 30/ early 30's so If you look a good 35 I think you could get away with them.

Ive seen people in there 40's/50's wearing them ( and Uggs too) to me and prob most younger people- they just doesnt look good in them, want to be young/mutton dressed as lamb.
There defo a younger style to boot imo.

They always remind me of someone who has been in the dressing up box, but then I'm not very stylish!

    Hey!
"It's not what you wear, it's the way that you wear it" comes to mind.
Luckily my 21 year old DD is hugely encouraging when it comes to my interpreting fashion trends.
Surely UGGs are for just about everyone!
  • On the right person, they may look good.... But generally speaking , I personally think UGGs are for younger people.

As you say its 'interpreting' fashion trends which is the key.
This is what my mum does and shes dresses great, for example she likes Uggs but says herself she couldnt wear them at 50+ so instead of uggs wearing Earth or Fitflop boots (similar to uggs but more of a winter boot)

But going back to the over the knee boots, I think at 35 you can wear them.:T
