blushingbride, yes it will help your compost and your tomatoes and your lawn/brassicas if you dilute it a bit. I don't even bother diluting it round fruit bushes (and sometimes not even round the rest if I'm honest)
A watering can is easier than a bucket, no splashing back
It also saves clean water being flushed down the toilet as well from an ecological viewpoint.
The radio bit was interesting, I didn't learn anything new, but alot of people rang in about how their grandparents used urine for everything in the garden. We only got one disgusted from tunbridge wells ringing in as well.
I just don't really understand what is disgusting about it. Its a normal function, dosgusting is the waste involved in getting rid of it now. I can honestly say I have never been outraged at someone weeing, e.g. at side of road or similar, apart from when in an antisocial place: e.g. populated urban environment...lifts, alleys etc.
Dh applies direct to where we want it, and also goes all around our chicken house.
We're very lucky not to be overlooked but I now our neighbours do it too, we've had giggling conversations about it.0 -
Well the way to recycle beer was to put it on a compost heap it helped improve the the heap .0

Friend also does this to keep the badgers from coming into her garden, well not her but her grown up son.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

When I sold my old house, I only parted with 2/3 of its garden. Now, when I visit the other 1/3 there are no 'facilities,' except the old compost heap.
The irony is that the entire sewage system for 40 houses passes through the land, but at a depth of about 2.5m. There is a mini weir down there beneath the inspection cover, while iron rungs in the wall would allow someone to climb down, but strangely, I never felt the desire to explore....
Yup, the compost heap will do nicely!;)0 -

Yeah that was the point of the radio slot. The head gardener from Wimpole hall was on explaining it.Canucklehead wrote: »
They also had a humorous local TV news slot, where they showed 4 men peeing behind a wall onto the straw bales that they then put onto the compost heap (as they said it works better that way). Then they gravely informed us that they weren't really doing "that"..... you know....... but just pretending, as if even just looking at a blokes face on tv as he is urinating on a pile of straw is really bad

Virtually all my 'neighbours' are the same, except they do it in broad daylight wherever they happen to be. Conversation is a bit limited though; mainly 'Baa,' 'Moo' and 'Neighhhhh!' :rotfl:0 -
I have tried many time to wee in my compost bin but find the balancing act far too dangerous for the benefits obtained. All recommendations welcome :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
