Hello all
ordered an item from usa 4 weeks, only £10, and its not turned up, waited till now to contact the seller due to strikes etc. She was apologetic and suggested I try checking the po with the customs number which she gave me. Is it possible to do this? Where should I be cross checking this with if anywhere?
Thanks

If customs are holding it back for inspection, then it can take ages...I'd contact the PO and see what they say

i wouldnt mind buts its the most ridiculous thing, its a rug in the shape of a duck for my bathroom so no idea what customs will be making of it if they do have it :rotfl:0

Not sure what a customs number is - do they mean a tracking number? If so put it into usps.com and royalmail.com tracking and you might get some info.
Four weeks is a long time from the USA even with strikes. Don't delay too long opening a dispute for item not received or it will be too late for you to do so.0 -
You could also contact your local delivery office. If some temps were delivering during the strikes (or managers) a lot of them didn't red card for people who weren't home

Personally I would get a protective paypal chargeback in ASAP you only have 45 days to do that so don't let it lapse.
If item is at customs then they will contact you, but there is no such thing as a trackable customs number so I can't see what the seller means.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've emailed again, will open a dispute in the morn if no action tonight.
I'm too soft I know:p0 -
seller offered me $5 (I spent £17 inc postage), as
" I generally don't give refunds especially when it's out of my control. If it was my fault I wouldn't hesitate, but because you are such a nice person I can give you back $5.00 which is half, but I can't reimburse the shipping. You have to understand that I pay for the item and then ebay charges to list it and then they get a percentage after it's sold. So I lose out all the way around. If $5.00 is ok, let me know. Thanks"
I am nice though, yes.
Opened a claim on paypal, which I've never done in 8 years on ebay and said basically that i appreciated her communication but as a seller myself, if something doesnt turn up and I cant prove delivery then I have to take it on the chin.
So I'll see what she says and then escalate if necessary.
do you normally get postage refunded through a dispute?
