I had "The Arrival of the Queen of Shebah" (something like that) - sounds very grand but it's actually a lovely peice of music.
If you google it I'm sure there is a website that plays snippets of the different music so you can hear it for yourself.0 -
Whatever you choose make sure the person playing it knows exactly what you mean even if you have to hum it. One bride asked for the Robin Hood music ( meaning the song from the recent film) and the organist agreed to this happily.
She walked down the aisle to the old tv theme Robin hood, robin hood riding through the glen - not he effect she wanted."This site is addictive!"

Poor girl! Like the idea of the Robin Hood music from the movie though.
We are having a civil wedding so we just take the CD along and they play it, so fingers crossed they won't get it wrong!
We are walking out to 'Call off the search' by Katie Mellua which is a lovely song.0 -
Have you looked through your CD collection to see if any of your favourites seem fitting? Or you could look at websites that sell CDs or list lyrics and have a mooch through to see if anything grabs you.
But don't stress about it too much - I had The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba as well but everything was just a blur (a happy blur I hasten to add!) and I was barely even aware of music being played, let alone how it sounded!
Hope the rest of your plans are falling into place.0 -
Hi I was piped in to the church to Highland Cathedral. Its beautiful, and also sounds lovely on an organ,
You can listen to it here:

Hi again, just re - read you wont need sheet music as your having a CD, Its available on CD too in loads of places. Means you could have the bag pipe effect??
Or for something totally different, We had a Starships "Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now" as our first dance. It was really fitting as the words are fab.I think therefore i am....not TOTALLY thick!!!0 -
Even though you're havinga civil ceremony, I think traditional music is nice.
Ave Maria is a beautiful piece of music. It sets the scene and paces you nicely rather than flying down the aisle!
Think about what sort of atmosphere you want. Do you want romantic, cheery, celebratory? That may help you with your choice.
Have a lovely day!Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]0 -
Try the Confetti website (https://www.confetti.co.uk I think) for snippets of all kinds of lovely music. I had Air on a G String (no jokes please!) and my sister also had Queen of Sheba - both v.nice. Have a great day and don't stress the small stuff.£2 savers club - £62
Relaunched grocery challenge:
March target: £150 on food, £50 on other stuff - still not doing very well at keeping track...

Ok we decided (in the car to the registars!) that we would have Katie Melua 'Call of the Search' to walk in to then to leave Lou Reed 'Its such a perfect day'. Then we got told that we need to pick another one for when we are signing the register! Who knows!
I will look through our CD's tonight but we have very strange music tastes, my partner is a bit of a heavy rock fan (not that you would guess by looking at him!) and I like anything from Jazz to indie! So it could take a while!!
As you have said I probebly won't even notice what is being played!!
Thanks for your help and suggestions0
