  • Ikea have 10 year guarantee also which is great, any issues are fixed or replaced.
:money: giving me & my darling boys a better cheaper life :o:A
  • I do have 1 question about ikea kitchens though.

I have done my plan via there tool and i have had to use a couple filler pieces but when you look at the inventory there not included.

How you you go about getting theses when ordering?

Filler pieces, were ordered in store no probs - & you can take back un opened packs for full refund, too, so buy more than you need!

As for granite, it would have cost more than the entire unit/worktop price in Ikea. So we opted for their special order laminate. There is only one join on the long run of units, in the fotos in my post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1226177&highlight=vansboy which you cant see hardly. Also had the brekfast bar mad 100mm wider, again unless you look really close, you wouldn't know.

    Worktop cost was under £500.

& as I mentioned before, Ikea have their storecard, which used to (best double check) get you 5-10% back in vouchers on your first spend. So worth thinking of EVERYTHING you need & buy in one go. The silly thing is, they only give a £2000 or below limit. So polite chat with customer services, in store, means that even if you max the card & spend more cash/other plastic, on 'first' time, they'll honour the voucher- back deal.

We have just been to Kutchenhaus Kitchens for get away from the building work we are having done.
WELL what can i say apart from barge pole's touch wouldnt....
They had their carcass next to wickes, B&Q and Magnet for comparason But they use the budjet carcass's from the big boys and theirs still looked crap.
Supposed unchipable edging, well built and ridged.
Well they was chiped edging and a drawfront fell off when i touched it and hinges hanging off carcass's.
Oh and sales man that does not listen and talks pooh.
I would buy from B&Q before these people even if it cost 50 times more
The place was a joke, the good bit was macdonalds and getting home to the mess and noise

  • Hope u dont mind me butting in on ur post - have to say CK's Eggersman range of kitchens is really rather nice!! is refreshing to see someone actually selling something where they have obviously considered what they are selling, so i am guessing you should get some sound advice from him. I know from my experience as an interior designer that kitchens require more specialist knowledge than is given credit for. I use a kitchen designer when i get asked for kitchens as theres so many thngs to consider. there are many different areas that arent noticeably apparent thatmakes one kitchen different from another. The problem with all the 'cheap places' (bandq ikea etc) is that when you strip away all the discounts - whether they be fake or not, you will be left with similar prices but a pretty nondescript product. The big companies seem to save a couple of quid per kitchen on stuff that isnt noticeable at first when multiplied by a 1000 kitchens a week thats a big saving to them but the customer gets a worse kitchen. Ikeas marketing dept is first rate - their 25 year guarantee willnever be called on. if u r still in the house to claim on it in 5 years time, i doubt ul stil have the receipt or the inclination to claim on it - even if anything is actually guaranteed in the first place. blum hinges and runners - theydo different kinds - its an industry standard to use blum but are they a 35kg runner or a 50kg runner?? for example. Ikea will also charge you extra for hinges and handles etc when you tot it all up it will be the same as everyone elses. Cooke and lewis are b and q trying to get away from selling cheap cheap cos they cant actually sell a decent product for pennies. they are not that hot though. ultimately u have to decide your budget and try to stick to it and if you can only afford £2k then you can only spend £2k. At that level all stuff is going to be compromised quality wise. thats not to say spending £4k will get you anything better - you have to know what you are looking for. From my experience the best value for money for a solid kitchen at no nonsense and published prices would be https://www.crown-imperial.co.uk there are a few others out theres one company that actually sell an ok product at not massively inflated prices. ill butt out now actually as i am just rambling and probably not helping. feel free to email me if you actually want myadvice - id be happy to offer it if i can be of help. • Ikea kitchens offer by far the best prices. DON'T buy their sinks though. And get a really good fitter...it makes all the difference.
  • We inherited a howdens kitchen from previous owners and we need to fill in some small gaps now that we have moved ancient boiler and washing machine. We know it is from Howdens but they won't sell to us. We don't need a builder to do a very simple job and don't know any personally so we can't ask anyone to buy for us. Is there any way around the trade only policy.
