If all they've got to think about is what their veggie colleague is eating for lunch, they seriously need to Get A Life!
We never seem to have leftovers in our house (Mr LW was a Labrador in a previous life, I'm certain) but he does always take take 2 HM bread sarnies, 1 with cheese, t'other with HM jam, and HM cakes and biscuits. He also has a jar of loose-leaf Earl Grey tea in his desk drawer; I have no idea if his colleagues think he's weird, but he enjoys his lunch every day.:D
OP, don't let these sad individuals get to you, they're not worth the waste of energy. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Isnt this another sign of our materialistic, consumer driven society? If something isnt in a supermarket plastic packet then its no good is it? Oh it makes me so mad, I know my son got a comment about having home made biscuits at break time. I know he would rather eat my home made biscuits than shop bought ones but he doesnt want anyone to think his Mum is too poor to buy "proper" biscuits. So sad.
Come on guys lets keeping fighting this. Home made is healthier, cheaper and better for the environment - and I dont care what anyone thinks.0 -

I agree with everyone else. Just think how stupid they are at spending a fortune on rubbish food. Im a SAHM now but most of the time when i worked i would take in left overs or something that i had made the night before and people would be like "ooh what have you got" interested in it but when i said last nights tea, it tastes better (lol) they didnt seem too keen. I now make larger portions of tea (if its something that can be eaten next day) so DF can take to work and evryone is jealous and even more so with hm cakes and flapjack
Ignore them :-)0 -

I had to go and find out what a bento box was....and now I am going to have to get one0 -

It just made me laugh - every lunchtime, without fail, he'd look at his soggy store-bought sandwich, then at my HM one, and say wistfully "that looks nice..." Silly man! :rotfl:Back after a very long break!0 -
I had to add my two cents,
In one place that I worked they used to looked at my funny every time I ate lunch. I am a big girl, but my lunches general consists of a bit of carbohydrates, protein and salad or veg, whether that be last nights stew and dumplings re-heated or a salad with chicken breast and cous cous, or good forbid sandwiches.
This was coming from the women who didnt eat lunch and another one who ate one ryvita, 4 grapes and 2 slices of cucumber!!!!
At least I am fat and happy, rather be that the miserable and skinney! :rotfl:
Must point out its much better where i work now.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -
