good idea mumsie!
just remembered... never ask for cold milk because they mill charge you... about £1 something, yes its alot! ask for a cup and get it from the condiment stand.
also a cappucino is half milk & coffee and half foam... a latte is coffee, milk and a 1/4 foam.0 -

I'm a local!!! - It sounds good - beer:}
It will be between TJ Hughes and Pizza Hut (on the high street). Gives us about four weeks then come on in!0 -
Somehow 'STARBUCKS' and 'MONEYSAVER' don't seem to sit together very well IMHO.
... a (large?) cup of coffee at nearly £2, when there seem to be plenty of folks on here who budget under £50 weekly for a whole families food and drink.
OK, it may be a little treat, but one such treat a week for a year is the good part of £100 that could go towards reducing bills/spending/mortgage etc.. :rolleyes:0 -

We all have our weaknesses0 -
Starbucks does offer a 10p discount to customers who bring their own mugs, or carry cups. It also, technically, applies to customers who choose to bring their own paper cup, it needn't be clean, or even Starbucks, in either case it will be replaced with a new Starbucks paper cup (so that no-one leaves with Starbucks coffee in a Costa cup - heaven forbid!). I guess this discount is equivalent to buy 19 lattes get one free!
The short size is by no means a secret, I worked at Starbucks for years, and found that most staff members prefer it because it gives a stronger coffee (comparable to a double tall latte). Few customers know about it, because it's not widely advertised. Not all shops stock Short mugs, in that case the customer would just get a paper cup. Any hot drink can be made in Short size, but frappuccinos aren't available in Short.
Most Starbucks staff are very free and easy with giving away samples, of food, coffee, whole bean coffee - just ask nicely! We always gave our regulars lots of free stuff, so it pays to be polite to the staff.0 -
me and hub go every week to starbucks and are quite friendly with the staff.. we have NEVER once been givein anything free.. must be the way we look lol

Hi James,
Yes, now you mention it, my boss requests a 'short latte' and it never occured to me that size isn't on display, so it's a good point and well done!0 -
I have had a free upgrade twice at starbucks when there was problems. Once I waited forever for my drink, so they gave me a larger one. Another time they had completely run out of the fruit frapochino so they gave me free syrup in the iced coffee i ordered instead.0
