Have Tesco stopped accepting manufacturers coupons?

I went to Tesco at Yaxley, Peterborough today and
they would only accept ONE  voucher. I said to the lady that I thought that you were able to accept one of each voucher but no duplicates (I had 11 different vouchers).
She had said that they'd been told not to accept more than one if you hadnt brought the product
The reason being that they'd had ladies paying for half their shopping in vouchers....I hope this isn't going to go to all the branches.0 -
Yeserday I was able to put through 4 extra clucard vouchers and 4 manufacturers coupons on the self scan. 1 manufacturer coupon wouldn't scan but I'm guessing they didn't stock the item maybe? I had bought all the items to qualify for the clubcard vouchers though. I generally only swipe a max of 4 coupons through the SS, doesn't raise too many eyebrows.0

when in tesco today i spent £62 and it wouldent accept my £6 off £60 voucher so she called the supervisor (the cashier was still learning and couldnt put alcohal through so she must have been under 18) however the supervisor said to her that sometimes they do not scan via the lazer behind the glass and to use the wand instead (IYKWIM)and it worked fine then she said only one coupon if you havent bought it.
but i did manage 2 £6 of £60 vouchers (one was mailed and the other was a till spit) so i can't complain
hope this helpsOwner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0 -
Hi saving-mad, glad I'm not the only one offering more than one £6 off £60 at the same time! Today Tesco accepted one £8 off £80 voucher and 2 x £6 off £60 Sainsbury's vouchers, as well as a £10 off clothing voucher...! Also had several Tesco Extra points coupons in the handful so I expect the cashier wasn't looking at what he was scanning.
I had bought the right amount in total (including the clothing) but I expect you are not really meant to use them all for one £82 shop?! Whoooooops how did they all get in the same pocket?
By the way, the mention of till-spits has reminded me to ask whether anyone knows what prompts them? The other week I was in a queue where everyone was getting a till-spit coupon from what I could see (both high and low-spenders) - so is it that certain tills each day will produce them?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I thought I read somewhere if you use more than like 10-20% it sounds an alarm and one of the supervisors jumps on you
Oh, don't know but never gone off for me. I don't tend to push my luck though.
Another point, if your bill is over £100 the supervisor has to get and check your signature. In this situation, they then tend to be hovering over you whilst you put your coupons through so any slightly out of date ones may be spotted...
The signature thing bugs me as I think that the tills should be chip and pin - they already have key-in software for loose produce etc.
Another tip, if the slot doesn't appear to be registering the fact you have posted your coupon, then blowing into the hole tends to sort it out - don't want the supervisor retrieving and checking which coupons you have put thorough...7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

I tend to agree about the spit receipts. Never had one through Self Service either.

Perhaps we should all email customer support and ask them why we are discriminated against when using the self service till.
Update: just rang the clubcard helpline (mainly because it was the only 0800 which was vaguely relevant) and was told that coupons aren't generated every shop, it depends on promotions, the products you buy and how regularly you shop. I was assured that the self service tills operate from the same place as the normal tills and generate coupons based on the same criteria.
Maybe I should periodically swap my clubcard with OH's to generate more... No longer using my Tesco credit card as it is no longer free but perhaps I should swipe it as a clubcard occaisonally to get more coupons....7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
i used some at the weekend with no problems!
unfortunately though, my local Tesco seem to be cracking down a bit now. They won't let you use any coupons on the self scanning tills - there's signs up all over the tills.
so i just make sure i go to a checkout with a young lad. They never care how many coupons you have!0 -

Thanks for that. Interesting. Big question then -
Have you ever received a spit receipt on a self service till???
Me - NoAsk me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
I used £3 worth of coupons on a self scan till yesterday on a £5.37 spend - oops! No prompt for the SA to come over, although all 4 tills were busy and she was young girl so prob didn't want the hassle of pulling me up on it?
I've not received a till spit/spill whatever it's called from a self scan only a normal till 100 points when I spend £3 on frozen mince.0 -

Same problem at Hampton Peterborough, the young girl said well I could take just one so gave her the £1.99 cosmopoliton one. I'd bought loads of times and Expresses for vouchers to be in with a profit. Will try again at the w/e and pick a young handsome lad, I will def' do more internet shopping with codes if this keeps up.0
