I've had HDN variously deliver -

    - thrown through an small open window (when I was sitting in the room) - they "didn't want to bother me by ringing the bell first".

    - thrown over the 6-ft high back gate (which is down an alleyway, and accessed from a different road) and left on the ground. The gate was unlocked, too.

    - through the back gate and then through the cat flap...blocking the cat flap completely and leading to some very !!!!ed off moggies.

My heart sinks whenever I see they are delivering....

I don't see what you have to complain about!! how are they supposed to know your neighbour was "looking out" for your parcel? and that you wouldn't be at home to receive it? I'm sure on BHS's website they would have stated that someone needs to sign for the parcel. Would you rather they left it on your doorstep and someone nicked it?!? as for delivery times, I'm sure they didn't try to deliver to the school at that time just to annoy you or plan their whole route just so they would deliver when they knew nobody would be there, you knew they delivered between 7 am and 7 pm so you give them a delivery address of somewhere that you know someone will be available for that duration in order to sign for it. Nobody to blame but yourself
jeez some people never accept any responsibility...

Have to agree with that, should have made sure you were going to be in OP or got it delivered to an address where someone would actually be!! how is that HDN fault?

Really not sure what you mean - it is all true. Sorry if that somehow upsets you.
  • The first couple of deliveries I had from HDNL were nightmares to finally receive, but since then they've been ok. The main problem I have with them is that they don't have a depot anywhere near me, whereas other couriers do, and that is usually the easiest way for me to get hold of the items. Not their fault, but I'd still far rather online shops used DPD as it's only half an hour walk away. Sadly we don't get to choose.

Can't say as I've ever had a problem with my delivery guy, if I'm not in, he opens my side gate, puts the package in the open shed, shuts the shed door and locks the padlock.... we have been doing this for 3 years and I have never had anything go missing.... he has even returned when on the odd occasion I haven't received all of the packages, and he found it in the back of the van at knock off time.... couldn't ask for a better delivery man or service in my opinion.

upsets me?!? hardly, just don't beleive it...
  • I got a delivery a few days ago - but I'd literally gone into the house a few seconds befroe the van stopped outside, and opened the door again before the delivery man got out of the van....

But the item was broken when I got it unpacked (fortunately it's repairable)

I had to drive 36 miles each way to get to my 'local' HDN depot where my parcel from Boots was being held. Made it just over a 70mile round trip to go and collect my parcel!! I live in quite a major city as well so it's not like I live in the sticks.

Had to go straight from work one day to make it in time. Ended up taking just under an hour each way. I wasn't happy to say the least.

I've now been told they have opened or are opening one closer to my city.
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Just spent 40 minutes on the phone with Amazon. Apparently HDN delivered a digital camera to my daughter's address but as she wasn't in they left it with a "neighbour" according to the tracking info on Amazon website. As they didn't leave a card we have no way of knowing which neighbour this is. I am certainly not allowing my teenage daughter to go knocking on the doors of complete strangers. HDN seem to have no record of where the parcel was delivered to.......

Amazon now say that they are going to send the same driver to retrieve the parcel from where he left it and redeliver it tomorrow.

I am not hopeful. I spend a lot with Amazon but I suspect they have had their last order from me if they continue to use this company.
