Water Meter.....Annoying!!!

Options
Can anyone help me. We have bought a new house, completed last week. I cannot for the life of me find the water meter. We definately have one, confirmed twice by Yorkshire Water.

Places they said it could/should be:

1) Under the kitchen sink
2) In the bathroom

Apparently it is on their computer as being under sink, now unless it is invisable I cannot locate it. Anyone else got any ideas of the hidey holes for these contraptions.

Cheers

Brand new? Knock on the next door neighbours door and ask them where theirs is.

Its not a new build, have asked neighbours they aren't on meters, lady who lived here before got on put in cos she was on her own. We have got families either side, so im guessing its cheaper for them to be un-metered.

    Ho-hum!

Don't know if I can help, but I too have just moved into a new home and went through the same process of giving all the meter readings...

Anyway, my water meter was out in the street! Its a little black box about the size of a CD with a flip-up lid. The water company gave me the serial number so I knew which one to read. Each house has the little black box just at the end of the garden.

Yes, definitely check outdoors. Ours is in the front garden, in the middle of the lawn.

  • If you don't find it outside run the tap when you're in the kitchen and, if it's really quiet, you may here it ticking ... I can here mine.

The water meter at my last house was in the pavement in front of the house. The house previous to that; the meter was in the kitchen under the sink, but you had to remove the kick board bit under the cupboard to get to it.
I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....

Ah...the kick board under sink is pushed in slightly, will look there when I go back today, as well as outside. When Yorkshire Water said under the sink I thought it would be in an easy to reach place
