I like the idea of monthly too:) Ultimately more achievable;)

  • I agree that a monthly pledge challenge could help us more effectively
    1. Step by step - one day at a time approach then a week passes then another and another and the month is almost done.
    2. Breaks it down into more manageable chunks rather than the longer pledge which we are all motivated for when it starts and then (me) it wanes a bit over time
    How could we do it?

    Hmmmm....

Pledge a number of days a month we will not buy any items on or include a maximum spend budget if want to and then can reduce it if need be each month

    Any ideas?

I'm treating this as my own addiction in which means I need to tackle it differently now - a manageable day be day abstinent approach is required

  • I like the idea of the monthly challenge. It would be easier to keep track of rather than the 100 days.

My current challenge is still going to plan - but maybe I'm tempting fate by watching QVc's Beauty Day...

  • The monthly challenge is sounding popular then, perhaps we can finish this on the 19th then start again in March?

I'm up for monthly challeneges - I've found 100 days long enough to make it seem almost undoable. :)

  • Monthly is a good idea... don't they always say set smaller goals to achieve a a big target?

I think the principle should still be the same though, for example no buying mags for a month or unnecessary toiletries.

Well said psycho - small goals lead to a bigger one

I am highly tempted by todays TSV but am determined not to cave in, the thing that stops me is the thought of how much is in the wardrobe upstairs still to use.

I must admit, I was very tempted too... I love pretty much all L'Occitane stuff! :o Thankfully DS has has me either playing MarioKart so he can watch, or watching back to back Noddy, so I haven't seen much else!

Not been on for a while, nothing new bought but have managed to use up a deoderant, a facewash, an eye make-up remover, a bodywash and a moisturiser! My stash is going down slowly but surely!
