Nice to see you back Zig!

Camp America sounds like a great opportunity. Hope you manage to get in.

Good luck with the dissertation, I know how hard that is!

    Thank you girls :)

Today I got one of my references sorted for Camp America so that's one thing ticked off my list. I have a ton of school stuff to sort out before Monday though.

Today I spent £2.05 on a coffee and a chocolate bar (:o) and £3.59 on a KFC burger (:o:o). So much for the diet. Was a yummy burger though - Kentucky Jack! :D I had a small dinner too - a third of an omelette so hopefully that kinda makes up for it. At least when I'm at school I don't spend any money and I eat much healthier.

I'm going on a family trip tomorrow so that will cost £25 + lunch, so another spendy day. I'm looking forward to spending time with the family though.

Me and OH had a bit of an argument earlier :( My little plan was that if I get a job, I'll go to Camp America then start the job in September. If I don't get a job, I'll go to Camp America then go travelling for 1 or 2 months with my sister. But my OH is not happy with that plan cuz he wants to settle down asap and doesn't want me using my savings (a third of our total savings) to travel as it means we'll obviously take longer getting a house.

I'm really torn. I mean, obviously, it's a case of waiting and seeing what happens. But (and I never thought I'd say this) I feel rushed into settling down. He wants kids fairly soon as he is 5 years older than me and doesn't want to be an older parent. I want a family too - I'm a real nester - but I also don't want to have regrets when I'm older. Maybe Camp America should be the compromise and I don't go travelling. We'll see. :o

Zig - if you want to go travelling you should go as you would only regret it later on if you didn't go. All the people I know who have been travelling have had an amazing time.

I agree, if you want to you should go. You'll end up regretting it and quite possibly resenting your OH for it.

I agree you should go travelling, a month or two isn't long at all. And it's not something you can do once you have young kids, so if its a step you want to go through before ssettling down like he wants he needs to understand that you travelling now actually gets you both closer to where he wants to be. Could you possibly come to a compromise like you keep working now, and all that money is saved for your travelling?

Me and OH had a talk today and he explained that he's scared he's gonna lose me (which he definitely isn't!) and he is just looking forward to us living together and settling down. He also said that he will support me in whatever I want to do though, so we will just see what happens. It was a good talk though and I feel like I should be grateful that I have a boyfriend who wants to be committed and settle down with me! :o

Had a good day out with the family. Didn't have to spend the £25 I thought I would on go-karting, but had to spend £25 on lunch so I broke even I guess! :p

Won't be spending any money tomorrow which is good. I also need to investigate laser eye surgery because my Dad has very kindly said that I could get it done and he'd pay and I could pay him back when I can. Very exciting - I'd love to not have to wear glasses! Any recommendations would be fab. :)

Ahh bless him. One of my best friends went travelling for a year and her and her OH stayed together and they have moved in together now and are very happy so can definately all work out OK!

MY OH had laser eye surgery recently and is really happy with it. I will try and find out who he did it with later when he is awake and let you know!

Awh, bless your OH Zig :D Sounds like a bit of a sweetie! I really hope you get into Camp America, weren't you after doing it last year?

Glad you had fun with your family, £25 isn't bad for a day out either and when you're saving days like that really make the slog worth it!

Really lovely of your Dad to offer to loan you for the surgery, I wouldn't have the guts for that!

My OH had it done at optical express I think, he kept umming and aahing so they knocked the price down so worth paying interest but not going for it straight away.

Yeah I decided last year I wanted to do it, then I changed my mind when I realised it would clash with graduation, now I've changed my mind again! :o

You're right Cinny, £25 isn't bad at all for a day out with the family. We went go-karting and it was so much fun.

I'm scared already about the actual surgery, and it's not even definitely happening yet! At least it's a fairly short procedure.

Ooh that's worth knowing, thanks! I think it will be between £4k and £5k which is insane! I don't think my Dad realises how expensive it is so we will have to wait and see what happens.

No spending today so that's good. Did spend £5 on the lottery over the weekend though and didn't win. :o
