Zig, if I was you I would be jealous aswell but like Cinny said hes with you !
I know what you mean about having a cry and then feeling better, I usually watch a sad film (my sisters keeper most recently) and then feel like my heads alot clearer.0 -
Sounds like your sister has low self esteem if she used to be plain, and is now seeking physical validation in any way she can. And unfortunately your OH seems to be providing the validation that shes interesting and attractive.
Birdie, about feeling in a rut. I was reading an article in a psychological journal last week about how its not having a 2 hour date night once a week that leads to lasting couples, its having shared rituals on a day to day basis, such as cooking dinner together, eating around a table and focussing on one another, and importantly was going to bed at the same time. So don't worry if you're happy together don't feel you have to change the way you are.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks again
I feel a bit mean painting my sister like a right ! But what Dinah says makes a lot of sense. I think it's just a phase she's going through, it's just not helping me out.
I've never seen My Sister's Keeper - don't think I want to either! I'm not too good with sad films!
Some good news - the birthday plans are back on! I'm going to book it tomorrow but hopefully we'll be spending Fri night to Monday night in Newquay, and going to Fifteen, and a 3 course meal at Beaucliffe's. My Dad and Nan paying half each which is lovely of them.
And me and OH are gonna go to London to watch The Lion King so I'm looking forward to that too!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I think Dinah makes a lot of sense, and Cinny, but in relation to what D was saying has she had many boyfriends? If not maybe once she does start dating she'll be satisfied and won't seek validation from others like your OH?
Bday plans sound fab - The Lion King is the best ever ever!!!!!!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
As for the film, I cried from the moment the first character started talking because I knew what was gonna be happening for the next hour and a half...
Thats exciting about your birthday plans ! I hope you have a great time0 -
No she's only had one boyfriend, they had been together for about 6 weeks (they've only just broken up) but she's had loads of issues with him. He wouldn't text back, or come round when he said and stuff. She still needs to get her stuff back but he's being a loser and avoiding her. This is part of the reason why her and OH have been talking so much. But it became an issue between me and OH because he would say things like 'Sis needs the support at the mo' and 'she's having a really rough time' and I just felt like screaming 'can you not see I'm having a rough time and need the support?!?!'
Ooh you've seen the Lion King?! So it's as good as they say? Do you know which seats are best?
Thanks ClaireI haven't read the book either, but I think I'll watch the film when I'm not so emotional!
ETA: I've decided to change how I do my money when I go to my Nan's. I get paid £55 a week so as I'm not going to be buying food shopping I will take out £40 a week and that has to last me. Petrol and eating out will have to come out of this. The £15 will go into my Personal Stash and be used for online purchases. When my phone bill needs to be paid I'll take it out my weeks' money. I think that's my plan but it may need tweaking!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

It's amazing, I'd recommend it to anyone! So clever the way they do it, and the music is fab - where Claire said she started crying from the beginning of that film, I was the same the moment the giraffes loped across the stage to the African drums, gives me goosebumps thinking about it actually
Not sure about seats to be honest though, we never seem to get particularly good ones unfortunately! I'd probably say stalls or first balcony for the best view but of course these are most expensive. Have a look on that Theatre Monkey site, I think that's quite good. Wasn't someone doing an offer on West End tickets in Jan and Feb too? Last Minute? (Don't know if that's when you're going!)
If your sis is making a bit dramatic song and dance about how rough she's having it at the minute while you're just getting on with things, I think men can be a bit blind to the obvious. Maybe you need to have a big hissy fit so he knows how you're feeling?!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Thanks for the info Tete! It sounds amazing, I'm excited! I'm hoping to make it into a 2 day trip so we can do something in London the next day but haven't got a clue where to start for cheap hotels. We're not sure when we're going - as we're going to Newquay for my birthday so it's not so important that seeing The Lion King is near my birthday. Might be something to look forward to later in the year.
I had a hissy fit the other dayI think he understands how I feel (now) but forgets sometimes. At the moment I go from feeling really positive about everything, to feeling really down and wondering why I'm bothering.
I'm meant to be doing a portfolio that's due in tomorrow but due to my flatmate deciding to start being a loser I'm on a right downer and it sucks!
I have a tv in my room but for months I've only had the bbc channels - I've told my flatmate (who's my landlord) but he keeps ignoring it. And lately (since I've given him a date for moving out!) he comes into the front room and puts on his xbox and sits down and waits for me to be polite and give him control of the tv! Even if I'm obviously sat watching something he does it! Very annoying.
He's just being more rude since he knows when I'm going and I hate it. 2 weeks til I leave!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Yeah that's what I keep thinking - only 2 weeks to go!
I'm doing a couple of change pots - 1 for coppers, 1 for silvers (20p and under), and 1 for £2 coins. (which are rare!) I'm not gonna open them until I start my Christmas shopping.
And I'm also doing a virtual sealed pot. Every day I'm going to round down my bank balance to the nearest £5 and transfer the odd bit to a savings account. I think this will be for various presents too.
Myself and OH have 3 holidays this year which I'm looking forward to.
4 nights in Newquay in March for my birthday.
A week in Corfu in June.
4 nights in Woolacombe in Devon in July. (A Sun £9.50 holiday which cost us £30 each!)
I can't wait to get paid on Friday!
ETA: I have decided not to do a DooYoo challenge as I have enough to worry about with writing essays and lesson plans for uni so I will do DooYoo when I have time, and when vouchers (eventually) come through I will either use them for uni books I need, books I particularly want, or a present I know I can get for someone.Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21
