Those plastic charity bags!

Options
There was one on my doormat first thing yesterday morning, then another arrived about the same time as the junk mail. I removed them and dumped them in the bin. Yesterday afternoon, at about 3.30pm another one arrrived.

Today, there was another this morning, which up to now I have ignored, but I just walked through the hall, and there's another!

That's 5 this week, and it's only Tuesday! What is it about our neck of the woods?

Use them as waste bin liners

I'm pretty sure you should be leaving them out for them to collect, otherwise they've had to pay for the bag that you're not using!

They make very good rubbish sacks if you have a wheelie bin. As for the charity paying for the bag. Do you return the free pens you get if you don't use it to fill in your bank detials? I know I don't.

Hmmm... not true I'm afraid, at least in these parts. In my old house 90% of these bags were from dodgy fake charities. I used to leave them out empty with a note telling them they were scum, but possibly a more productive course of action would have been 1) call local paper 2) let neighbours know they are dodgy and 3) take advantage of the free bin bags.

Have noticed many of them say they are to provide 'affordable'(in other words, they sell them to them) clothing to needy people overseas. However I would much rather walk to the charity shop and know that the money raised from my donations is all going to whoever the charity is for.
The bags are a welcome sight on my door mat as they are just the right size for the kitchen dustbin.

They must be tight around my way, the dodgy ones tend not to leave bags just a note with sob story

I keep the bags, fill them up with outgrown stuff, and then take them down to the hospice shop.
If the stuff has been bought and paid for once I think its disgusting that these people sell it on to people who need it. And why do they always ask for perfumes and jewelry anyway?

I used to leave the empty bags on the doorstep but they never get collected, get wet, and then I slip on them :(

The best thing to do with these bags if one arrives on your doorstep is burn them immediately, if you don't they breed faster than rats on a rubbish tip.

I used to do that. But nobody ever returns for them. I guess I should use them, but I was a bit irritated on this occasion.
