I was planning to go to one of these events to have a listen - thought it might at least be worth some free vouchers! However due to all these posts I won't now be going. Thanks, you've saved us having a wasted weekend, which could be better spent with our children (who we couldn't take with us, of course!). Cheers.0

We also bought in to this so called holiday club. We have tried numerous time to contact them, but to no avail. I am embarrassed to say I guess we have been scammed.0 -

We recently went to a presentation at Hatton, what a waste of time!
They insist that they do not sell timeshares and then tried to sell us a fractional share of a 4 berth 55 feet yacht.
Approximately £16000 initially reduced to £11900 to join on the day and if we did not use it in the first 3 years , a further pay back of £2700 which could not be guaranteed.
All doubled up if you wanted 2 weeks plus a £399 maintenance fee per year and no cool off period.
It took them 3 hours to come up with what they are selling with the figures and 15 minutes for us to get out.
The salesman was angry could not understand why we did not join and said we would have an even more pressued sell if we take the free holiday up.
The 'free holiday offer' is with Sugar Reef Travel Club in Exeter, take a look at their forums as their site is under constructioin.

I too have received a similar phone call saying I'd won a 5* luxury holiday for 4 in either The Canaries, Southern Spain or Portugal through an entry I'd made in August 2010 on some website called hoildayprizeworld.com. They even gave me the date I'd entered! I must admit I have no recollection of entering.
The upshot was that it was apparently an all expenses paid trip but I had to pay a booking fee of £29 pp and attend some sort of exhibition!! I was already going to tell the canvasser to get lost when attending somewhere was mentioned, so I cut the telemarketing person short and told her in no uncertain terms not to ring again.
I just wondered if anyone else has been approached by this mob and warn them to beware of unsolicited calls from this outfit as well.0 -
Thanks for the heads up, i too had a phone call from direct choice travel offering a free holiday for a £49pp processing fee for EU and £99 for non EU destinations. I didn't find out much about this company and did actually fill out a questionaire on the way home from a Thomson holiday to turkey last year. I will call thomson and see what they advise but i won't be touching this with an extra long barge pole0
