My wife and I were also invited to attend a seminar at Creech Castle, Taunton on the promise of a free holiday. This is definately a scam and should be avoided at all costs. For info, they are now operating under the name of 'Destinations Unlimited' which is a trading name for Mezoic (UK) Ltd.
I've reported them to Trading Standards and I'm considering taking the £3,750 they wanted from us and using it to destroy this operation. Anything to stop these crooked, low life, pathetic, criminals from getting their hands on honest peoples hard earned cash!!!
I'm furious they are allowed to get away with it........0 -
Far be it friom me to defend any "scamsters" but surely people have to take some responsibility for signing up to these things???
If someone cold calls you and says you have won a prize from something you cannot remember entering and that you need to travel here to collect it - it probably really isn't genuine lol!
I do understand that some people are pretty gullible especially those who are in "difficult circumstances" and need others to protect them, but c'mon lets all take some responsibility for personal greed aswell?? There is no free lunch ..... ever0 -
Clearing out the paperwork from 4 years ago for a Court case against Shakespeare Classic Lines prompted me to Google. Do not touch this company and its owner Andy Harris with a a barge pole (especially with one from his Narrow Boats). He and his company are experts at misleading people and cajoling them out of their money.
It is almost certainly not true that narrow boats are not covered by the Timeshare Act.They are almost certainly covered! Four years ago when several of use fought Mr Harris, Gloucester Crown Court decided that a "House Boat" (the Timeshare device Mr Harris was selling at the time) did fall within the Timeshare Act. The case was appealed and the appeal rejected. If taken to Court the arguments put forward for the "Houseboat" could equally apply to any other boat.0 -
Had a phone call from them today.
Suspicious when at the start of the call the chap wanted me give out my personal details to him to confirm who I was! (Obviously I always give out personal detials to cold callers who have found my phone number and name on a list somewhere!)
The phone number they gave out to call them back on after confirming their details on holidayhouse uki net is 0121 2222350. I notice their website is not on search engines...
Same other details about needing to visit Warwickshire to "collect" my holiday...!0 -

I am probably the first to reply to this thread that has been duped into signing up. Cannot believe that I have been so naive. They gave us the hard sell and made it sound very attractive and my wife and I fell for it. We have agreen to pay £14900 over a fifteen year period (£149 per month) to be a Fractional Owner of a yacht in the Med. They also convinced us that thee would be great discounts for holidays through a company called Interval International. It all sounded very convincing with lots of fast talk and lots of colourful brochures. They took £500 deposit from my credit card and gave me a cheque for £3300 as a garaunteed return for the first 3 years of the bookings with more to come each year, although this amount will vary depending on the amount of reservations they take. They said that there is no cooling off period as it was a boat so did not come under the time share regs. I hope this is not true. Is there any way out?0

someone else posted about this very thing not long ago and there was reference to a 10-day cooling off period.

Obviously based on their experience getting a bit further down the road than you are it sounds as if it's possibly even worse a situation than you thought - so obviously best to get out ASAP.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
A woman approached me in the street in Leamington Spa in April, and got my phone number. I told her I wasn't unterested in scam holidays. But I got a call tonight, asking me to go to Hatton to arrange my prize, one of 80 selected.... I won't be going. So sorry to hear the experience above.:(0

We went along because we don't live too far away. They were selling fractions of yachts at huge prices with annual income promises. Most of the 'presentation' was spent trying to convince us that the fringe benefits of joining some global fractional ownership club would save us thousands of pounds in holidays.
If you want to enjoy high pressure sales by dubious looking sales men in shiney suits this is the place to go. Thankfully they didn't make much of an attempt to keep us on site once we said 'no'.0 -
I've had tbis too,I was tk travel to some place north of Scotland, and they told us there was no children allowed.0
