Hi di
hope you are well and your family, update, i phoned the fos today, 4/12/09,. They are now saying that they are dealing with a whole load of ppi complaints with the lloyds, and i am in a que, they are waiting for lots of replys from the lloyds and as soon as they get a reply, they will send it on to a case worker, so its not gone to a case worker yet! I throught it went to the ombusman, any idea if they give them months to reply to the information they are asking for? The fos don't give much away, any one out there please post all information appreciated
many thanks
sharon666
Hi Sharon
not too bad thank you and you?;)
This happened with my hubby as well, just before he was successful with the ombudsman last week, so you may not be waiting too long now.
Before my hubby was successful, he received a return email from the FOS to explain what they were doing in regards of Lloyds, they are also doing the same with many more banks as well I believe.
Here below is the email he received just a few weeks before he was successful.;)
Dear Mr ,
Thank you for your e-mail and apologies for the delay in replying, due to me trying to get to the bottom of what is happening with your case.
I can, however, advise you that due to the large number of similar complaints this service has received concerning the sale of credit card payment protection policies by Lloyds TSB we have been in dialogue with Lloyds TSB at a high managerial level with a view to having the business settle these claims without the need to issue individual decisions on each and every case, a time and labour intensive exercise for the ombudsman involved given the number of cases currently with this service. I understand that as part of this process we are issuing what is known as a 'lead' decision to Lloyds TSB; this should hopefully be issued today.
In essence this is a decision issued by the lead ombudsman covering all the concerns this service has regarding the business' credit card sales and, if it is accepted by Lloyds TSB, we should then be able to provide the business with details of all the complaints we have received, including your own, for which we require settlement to be made. If, however, Lloyds TSB rejects the lead decision it may then be necessary to issue all of the individual decisions, though this is something we would wish to avoid for the reasons I have just stated. Whilst, therefore, the ombudsman has not issued a decision solely addressing your complaint, you are represented by this lead decision,
As with all decisions issued by this service, Lloyds TSB has a month to respond to the lead decision. I, therefore, anticipate being able to provide you with a further update on your case by this time next month.
Once again, I would apologise for the delay in replying to your e-mail and to the overall delays you are experiencing in the resolution of your complaint. I trust, however, that this e-mail goes someway to explaining the reasons for the delays and reassures you that your complaint, along with all such similar complaints against Lloyds TSB, is being progressed at the highest levels of this service.
Yours sincerely,The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi di
thank you so so much, for pasting up your e-mail, you have had from the fos, about your oh, i appreciate this greatly, so if i understand this, a lead decision has been made grouping ppi complaints , whether they be loans credit cards, and to which ever banks, lloyds ect to may be settle, and then names given over, if they agree, if not the complaints need to be given to the ombudsman to look at each case, thank you so much, for letting me look at your e-mail, i really appreciate this, it gives me so much hope, to think i am in a group, and not being picked out to be rejected, i have never e-mailed the fos can you e-mail them and ask a question about a update? On your case, anyway because the lloyds are closing our accounts now because we can no longer pay this loan with the ppi, we are in arrears, cant pay the arrears, so said they are taking us to court, so i rang them, said that this loan is with the fos and i have not heard anything from the lloyds and they told me i will be hearing so because the fos has asked for a audit from them, and a copy of the credit comsumer act that i signed? Don't know what this means, hope i hear soon, don't want to go to court, not a nice 2010, but i have a small hope now, from your e-mail must be lots and lots of complaints about this ppi miss selling, post soon, and thanks again, and thanks for asking if i am well big kisses
sharon666
Hi Sharon
Hope your okay.
Yes that is correct, and I'm sure it will all be okay.
We no longer bank with lloyds either, they have closed our online account also, we have the same reasons as you also.
We are under the CCCS as well, do not have a payment plan though but token payments for the time being.
Lloyds have stopped pestering us up to now, even though we have ppi complaints still ongoing with them, these ones on loans, we do also have a complaint in with the FOS about the way they treated us, this is actually with an adjudicater right now.
Yes you can email the FOS, do you have any letters from them with anyone's email details from the FOS?
Just email them for updates and they should get back to you if not the same day but the following.;)
I'm sure you will hear some hopeful news soon Sharon.:j:j
And your very welcome.
Hugs
Di

hi di
thank you so much for replying to me, yes well thank you, i hope all goes well for you, i can't tell you how much luck i am sending you, you will know when you get your case sortedxxxxx well like i said before, been with lloyds 21 years, could not even go into the bank in 2006 when all this happened, lossed my job, i was a carer,.. I can not get any benefits because i have not paid the right stamps, my husband lossed his job, thank god for only 8 months in 2006, was living on 90.00 per week has a couple, so got behind with everything, so been with collections at the bank, since 2006, i have tried and tried with them, for over a year, to refund the ppi on these three loans, but since feb 09 we have been with the fos, they are now shuting down our accounts, loan, overdrafts, so i wish i complained to the fos too, a long time ago, i do feel they are doing this now, because i have complained, but can't prove it, anyway i with a new bank now too, got to be because of the dmp with payplan, hope this gets sorted soon, i have been only paying token payments too, it takes about 3 to 6 weeks to set up, i believe, i will be so glad if all my creditors accept the dmp and stop all the interest that goes on every month, anyway if i get the ppi back, i will be sort of ok, it will go to reduce the arrears i think, hope so, thanks about the e-mail info, i will take a look on the letter from the fos, all i have had is negitive replys, from my credit cards to my bank loan ppi to my overdraft charges, the most i have had is £8.00 so where i could not wait to open the letters, i am down, but your support is so helpful to me even if i don't get anywhere or get anything back, i don't feel the only one with financial problems so thank you for sharing, post soonxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Sharon
Aww thank you.:A
Sending you lots of luck as well.
You have had a right difficult time of it as well haven't you?
And like us you were wtih Lloyds for a long time, and they end up treating us like "you know what".............
Sharon, you can still complain about them, just write to them first and tell them how disappointed you are with them, especially after being a customer of over 21 years years.
You feel you have not been treated fairly, and so on.
The FOS can still look into these complaints as a non financial complaint, due to being treated unfairly, which have caused distressed, read some info on the FOS site here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/distress-and-inconvenience.htm
I bet you have also been bombarded with letters and threathening letters, even from their so called solicitors.
I counted up 30 letters in one week, its pathetic.
They were aware of our situation, and a cover letter from the CCCS and so on, with our client numbers enclosed.
My hubby have been on depression medication since his job loss, I am also on meds for high BP, and we have a son with a form of autism that I care for full time.
And of course our mortgage fell behind and so on, all the stress adds up.
So if you have reason to complain, then you do it, like any other complaint they have 8 weeks.;)
Keep me posted Sharon, keep at them, and hope things get better for you real soon.:A

Hi di

hi di
asked this question, in the wrong place somewhere, if it comes through to you, do not worry about it, i was asking a question, if you pay a single payment up front, for the ppi plus interest, and you make payments on it, say for example, i paid 6,000 ppi plus interest, and my monthly ppi payment is, 93 pounds per month, and i am still paying this, do they give you the money back, you have paid, plus the money they charged in the first place?

Hi Sharon
Not to worry.;)
They must refund you all you have paid in PPI and interest, you can also request that they refund you 8% interest of what a court would award, so your monthly repayments should be just that of the loan, and in this case will be reduced as if there was no PPI.
Hope this gives you some idea......:D
