I personally think running these sites from something that cant be infected by these things is a danger. You wouldn't find out until your users started getting infected.0

I was on the site at work yesterday on two separate occassions and both times I recieved a system notification stating that a Virus had been detected and deleted (Bloodhound.Exploit.193) gave me quite a fright and I called mum to tell her not to go on here but everything seems fine today. I'm glad to see it's resolved!

Apple Releases Snow Leopard 10.6.2, Fixes 40+ Bugs
Yep, only 40ish - that's quite remarkable; the average Windows service pack must be into the thousands. To be fair, Windows is much more bloated and complex, which is one of the problems it faces.
Anyway, enough of this. Platform wars are pitifully childish and in this case it has detracted from some serious security issues, not to mention discussion about the weak and incomplete advice that users are getting fed via the media.

Where have those winsome pictures of Marty J and asisinity gone?
Whenever Edinburghass pokes her patronising nose into a thread it then gets butchered.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

And while Mac's (and i've a lesser knowledge of Linux - but most of its users are very techie savvy anyway so less of an issue) have traditionally been less targetted, there are still viruses out there.
As for what Mac and Linux users should be doing "everyone should do an updated anti-virus scan".

The MSE style of journalism however does seem to be verging on the daily wail style as well more and more so... I'll get my informative tech news elsewhere to be honest..

I found this in another thread but feel it rightly belongs here, too. (Particularly now.)
It depicts the IT software and hardware upon which it is believed this site is run and administered.
The original poster of it is a kindly soul and I'm sure he won't mind me duplicating it for the purposes of wider MSE enlightenment.
