Sophos sell anti-virus products, so their conclusion is hardly surprising.0 -
Whatever their business, it is an indication that UAC doesn't protect you against infection, whereas antivirus software does.!!

Hi folks
Just for those who noted that the forum was funny and "the official web article" has been removed.
Actually the entire main site was down for an hour and the web images are kept there which disturbed formatting.
We were worried at first but it turned out to be one of those annoying coincidences where the main and backup servers crashed consecutively.

Interesting that a virus can be injected into the forum,
It must be through the reply submit box, I assume.
If it has been, and it is possible, this leaves a lot of websites open to attack.
It'd be more interesting (than the squabbling platformers at least) to know how it got onto the forum.
If vBulletin can catch it, doesn't give much hope for the other forum providers out there...
The "iframer" bit suggests it's opening a website/code in a tiny frame within the "reply".

"It does this through embedding an iframe, which is a HTML code element. As it is an iframe, it may not be the actual site that is infected, but it may be that someone exploited the comment system and managed to embed an iframe with the trojan in it. Either way, avoid the site if you can, if not, make the web administrator aware of it if you can.

It doesn't do anything of the sort, it merely points out that UAC doesn't protect you from infection, especially with newer viruses that need to bypass uac to work on vista/W7.!!
