Well, thats explained why my Kaspersky has gone loopy when Ive come to this site in the last few days. I did put a query up about it but no one else said it was happening. Good old Kaspersky kept blocking a trojan every time I logged on here.

    Hi folks

Just for those who noted that the forum was funny and "the official web article" has been removed.

Actually the entire main site was down for an hour and the web images are kept there which disturbed formatting.

We were worried at first but it turned out to be one of those annoying coincidences where the main and backup servers crashed consecutively.

All back and bristol shaped now.

    Martin / :A Almighty :A,

One little question, if I may be so bold. :j

 Why the hell don't you run this whole place on Macs and get shot of all these endless and totally avoidable malware problems at a stroke?

    Sorry. :o

    L. :)

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

If you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7 with UAC enabled then Internet Explorer (and Google Chrome) are the most secure browsers for the entire platform because they have been designed around the Mandatory Integrity Levels that was introduced in Windows Vista which prevent processes from gaining write access to system folders other than what they require to operate (Temporary Internet Files/History/Cookies etc), and the processes are prevented from elevating to a higher integrity level which mitigates the potential for damage that can be done.

I've seen some dire things in my time but I think that's the single most unengaging sentence I've read in my entire life.

Still, it will probably earn him the 2009 Microsoft Award for Accessible Use of English, provided its panel is chaired by Bill Gates.

Brendan Perrett, MoneySavingExpert.com webmaster, says: "We have noted what seems to be a malicious attempt to implant a virus, known as a 'trojan.script.Iframer'. "If it did get on the site it's likely it was only there for a short time, and to the best of our knowledge, we have now shut off access to it.
So was it on this site or not? If so when was it found and removed? I would like to be able to work out if I had visited this site during the danger period. Can we not have a clear and honest answer from MSE?

Um - because it doesn't matter which hardware the webserver is on when it comes to some of these exploits - it's the hardware the customer is using.

Now, since VBulletin is written in PHP and using MySQL, both of which are platform agnostic, please remind us all how moving the server platform to Mac's would mitigate this threat again? (Hint to others - it doesn't.)

(I'm assuming, of course, the rest of the site is likewise based on PHP and MySQL, since it would be silly to use two different software solutions for the same site.)
