And thanks for the job vibes. I think what I want is them to persuade the Dean to extend me where I am, on the same part time hours until that time at the end of December.

Extend job vibes for you then Soappie!

and where are we laundry queens and why have we been left out?
I'm sure both Tag and I would like to think we could *try* to have no ironing...

    ***bump***

*mutters about stupid PC chair as has fallen off giggling AGAIN*

(I have JUST done some ironing as I didn't finish drying it all until late yesterday as DS was at a football match and I lost the will last night as per usual. And can we have *head walk into Valli's class when the kids are being brilliant and working hard (like in Literacy this am) and not in numeracy when they are trying to tell me that if the big hand is pointing at 3 and the little hand at 2 it's '3 to2'* vibes please?) I ask you!

Love and hugs for Carol and for Mof477 in my thoughts...I think Jinky's idea is nice and you could also involve/ask mum...
And I *think* I have guessed lemanie's real name!;):wave:hi there!

the challenge is to have all your ironing done by New Year's Eve - to start 2010 with an empty ironing basket.

Count me in, toots. DH usually does the ironing, but when I'm on holiday he never gets round to it, for some reason...
So my challenge will be to make sure that he does it, rather than doing it myself. ;)

Don't feel sorry for him, though, anyone - it's about the only thing he does do.

This is a question about oven cleaning that was answered on here years ago. When soaking oven shelves in the bath what would you recommend for soaking them in? I have put washing soda but am very impatient.

And, Greenbee, How do I get my glass oven door clean using environmentally friendly products and as little elbow grease as possible? I asked a while ago and you asked me to remind you:)

    Hi ya poohbear

I always soak my oven shelves in the bath with soda crystals. Use enough very hot water to cover the shelves and leave them to soak as long as possible. Unless they are really, really bad. Like the ones I inherited in this house when I moved. The burnt on grease etc should just slide off. I used a whole bagful in mine this morning. They're nearly there 100% sparkly clean, but I ran out of elbow grease;)

As for the glass on the oven door. I got a bit carried away this morning and took the oven door apart. :D Fed up with it still looking manky even when I've cleaned it. Anyway, I bought a tile and glass scrapper from B & Q a few weeks ago, to use after I had decorated. I used that on the glass oven door this morning and it came up fab.

    Toots - :hello:Hello!!!
As my peg pal Valli has mentioned I think she and I will 'try' the no ironing challenge!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

rosepink I cant believe you let DH send his ironing to his mum to do and sneak your own in - what an admission!!!!!
rosepink I shouldnt have posted that - it was judgemental of me and thats not what we are about here - i said once before i wouldnt interfere in your routines and I should stick to that - I was just so gobsmacked that a capable young woman would do that. I suppose its just that i wouldnt do that because my pride wouldnt let me but I have to remember that we all have different outlooks and priorities in life. I am sorry if I offended you.

mudbath hope your cold doesnt linger too long - look after yourself hun xx
DDB well done for recognising that the job is not quite right - you obviously need more of a challenge - good luck with hunting!

Triker honey i forgot to say I used to get borax in Boots.
jjef hope you are fully recovered fron the SF
valli honey you werent 'missed' off - you need to tell me if you want to be included - I know how fastidious and OCD you are about your ironing so i wouldnt have thought you would need to do the challenge but I would love to include you if you want to do it.

today has been ok and I have done a few things not on the list but i felt it was 'bitty' - i didnt seem to get going properly - I was interupted by phone calls and carers and then waiting for the cleaner who didnt appear

I have sorted out cards and have enough for now
I did a washing but it was too frosty to go out so its on the airer
S&S the kitchen and the bathroom
sorted out a load of stuff for ebay

and with that in mind i will tootle off and do it (after i do the stars)
    toots x
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
