How essential are holidays?

  • i'm abroad alot because of the type of work i do, but i do not think a holiday is a necessity, but something that is a desirable thing to do/have. most people i know go on holiday 2-3 times a year. i also know a few people (who do not really have the money to go holiday), go away at a month at a time.

there are some people - no matter if they have money or not - will always find the funds to go on holiday.

OK so it's not a basic need. But for me holidays are a major priority and I spend more on travel than on anything else. Holidays come above clothes, makeup, fripperies - everything. But, as others have said, each to their own. :D And it should be within budget. Paying for holidays - or any luxuries/consumer goods - on credit is madness.

I wouldn't say a holiday is essential, but would say it is good for us to get away, do something different.

Our last getaway of the year is coming up, and although I know it's going to be cold, possibly raining, it's something to look forward to, to get excited about.

We can get by without holidays, which is why I say they aren't essential, but having that something to look forward to does wonders :) [Apart from you often need another holiday to recover from the one you've just got back off :D]

Umm I am not surprised you cant find it.

I think you have gotten me mixed up with someone else.

Someone with a much better social life from the sounds of it:rolleyes:

I can't remember who the blokes were either ... complete/random guess would say Afriend. But really can't remember. But, it was some bloke in here thinking of moving somewhere, that was in a lane the female knew of ... and then it degenerated and 2-3 others joined in ... and it wasn't intellectual.

PN, it was grubby and it wasn't me? You're sure? Thank goodness. :D Its ceased to work as a diversion tactic here for rows anyway so I'm becoming a forum-nun again.

I was looking at a property not so very far from afriend and he worried. Could that be what you're thinking of?

I wouldn't wish to breach referral rules but I can send eligible couples there for £50 for a week.

I spend at least 4 weeks there per year and it costs me a lot more than £50 per week.

    GG
I am not an eligible couple though.
Firstly I am not a couple, secondly I'd not be eligible no doubt.
    What are these eligibility rules?
    - employed? No
    - homeowner? No

Oh ... maybe it was you!
    Filthy hussy!
    :)

I don't know to be honest.

I thought it was the bloke doing the looking/buying and the female saying she knew the area/had grown up round there. And there was a link to the house, which was large, old and right on the roadside (might be grey stone).

I didn't take notes because I didn't know there was a test at the end.

Its just 'cos I like wageslave you see. She reminds me of someone a bit (relax Montagues and Capulets, I'm not calling her a sockie) and I think she's a good egg. Like you, you're in my MSE good egg box.

Who else is female and "fairly new" in the sense of appearing more regularly in the past 4 months or being entirely new in that timespan ...?

I so rarely look at names to be honest.

    Not a clue.

Push comes to shove I struggle on names too, I remember them when they are here...just struggle to recall the name/person when not.:o
