Natwest Debit Card Confusion !

Hi,
I have a NatWest Currentplus account which I have had for 5 and a bit months so I wrote to my branch last week to ask if they could upgrade me to a servicecard if I was eligible. I already have a Natwest blue Debit card but I find that I cannot use it everywhere.
So today I thought I would cheat a bit and phone up telephone banking to see if they had ordered me a card. The Guy I spoke to first told me that I already had a Servicecard and I told him that I did not I had the Blue Visa Debit card, he then told me that they no longer issue Servicecards as they were Maestro and they now only issue Visa Debit cards !.
So he checks and I was ordered a card on the 4th November which was posted 2nd class on the 5th November but it is the SAME card as I already have (A Visa Debit) !. So why on earth would the branch order me the same card as I already have !, so he then seems to get more confused and tells me it might just be better to wait and see what comes in the post !, but tells me this new card that has been ordered is NOT a cheque card.
So I am confused as to why they would order me the same card as I already have when I asked to be Upgraded to a Servicecard, or have they actually ordered me a servicecard as he seemed to think I already had one as servicecards no longer existed !.
Seems to me that they don't know what they have done !

Just to add I have just checked Natwest Secure and it is showing 2 Visa Debit cards for my account, my Existing one and one with a completely different card number !, not sure why it would have a different card number if it was a replacement for the same card, would it not have a different card number if it was a totally different card (Such as a Servicecard ?).0

The Blue Visa debit card replaced Solo, the Purple one has Servicecard 100 on it and replaced Maestro.0

Yeh I think ths an rbs natwest attempt to deceive all there solo replacement visa debit card holders as I have had rbs staff tell me I have the only visa debit card they do !!!
One dennied they do a highline 100 card in visadebit!
Don't know why they do it.0 -
There's been a lot of cunfusion over these cards. If the blue one replces solo then you would not have had a solo card with a current plus account. Solo is with step account.
I had a service card 100 cheque guarantee card & it was replaced with a blue visa debit.0 -

They are not referring the cards as highline or service cards anymore its just simply a visa debit. We have amended this section by removing all references tosavings accounts as a "card".
"Servicecard", "Debit Card" and "Cashcard". This section now
refers to debit cards and ATM cards issued on our current and
They will remove the word highline and servicecard off the cards over the next year or so to fall in line with the phase out of cheques.

Sorry but I beg to differ - I had a Solo card with a Current Plus. It was definitely a Current Plus - I had a cheque book, card said Current Plus under my name and statement said Current Plus. If you qualified for the Current Plus but not the Servicecard you got Solo.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
