I would be tempted to accept the order from the delivery man.
That way we could see if the item we actually did get would refer to anything else in the catalogue with a different cat no to 110085 - If you get my drift! :-/0 -

I'm not very good at this copy and paste and will keep checking the web site
how come we have only paid £19.99 for this since they is nothing on the site by freecom for that price0 -
After a lengthy debate with index was told it was a Freecom Memory Stick!! and that if I didn't want it I could return it for a refund!! I'm amazed I kept calm. Advised them that I ordered a printer, had an e-mail confirming I ordered a printer, had money taken out of my account and had a copy of the webpage to show that this was not just a case of a wrong amount 80% off etc. and that the items were in stock, the item code still shows a printer not a memory stick!! They stated their legal department say they don't have to provide the printer!! I advise all concerned to contact Trading Standards and also BBC Watchdog and advise Index you are doing this. Helps to pass the time if nothing elseA shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Once I'm sure they have charged me I'll await to see what comes if anything and if it's nothing or not the right item I bought, I'll go the the court and issue a small claim against them - I think they are legally bound to send a representative to court, If they honour it in the meantime, I'll still go to court and claim my fee back also.
It should be quite easy once we have a contract (ie once they've taken money from me)0 -

Claims Costs are as below

£500 £60
£1,000 £80
£5,000 £115
£15,000 £230
Not really worth it. Cheaper to buy a printer
Is it just me or does anyone else not find the whole thing funny?
(Ps i ordered one as well and money has been taken out)Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
I'm not up on the legal system but a think you can make a group claim.
However, aren't we all being a little hasty? Shouldn't we wait to see what they send us before we start jumping up and down? ::)0 -
Here are the pics of the printer on page 362 of the Autumn /winter catalogue *;)
Modified to improve page settings0 -
It's clear that Index have ballsed this one up big time and they could resolve this quite easily by saying, "look, we're sorry and we offer all concerned a full refund."
However, they continue to say that....at first it was a cable and now it is a USB stick....
They surely must have gauged by the number of calls I imagine they will have got by now that THEY ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE GOT IT WRONG and not us!!!
I don't expect a printer tomorrow, but if anyone can get through to them tonight or tomorrow morning, tell the rep to go to the Index website, enter the code 110-085 into the search function and they will see that we're not all suffering from new year delusional disorder!0 -
Dont you have to pay about £40 just to start a claim in the small claims court?
Its hardly worth it.
Sure it is, you may have to pay £40, but when you win (which I can't see anyone doing based on the overwhelming evidence against Index), they have to pay the court fees, plus compensation. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0
