Car engines make different noises, depending on how hard they are working don't they? Just the same..oh, and VS haven't had a crash-nearest they came was when Tim had the landing gear problem..all went well... another mate of ours (known as Maq the Pak) is a VS skipper....are you flying on a Jumbo or Airbus do you know?We have 2 Virgin skippers in our village-one of which lectures on the FOF courses...(JJ The Jet-pilot is his village nickname...)
It's an Airbus A340-600. Please tell me they are ok. I've booked my seat (window) and researched the plane in detail on the internet. How nuts do I sound??YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

I'm an underwriter for a well known 24 hour bank."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Ooh, that's Maqs fleet-he's off sick with a slipped disc right now....will see if he's back at work nearer the time! A340 has very good reputation, and you don't sound nuts at all........seriously, if you have particular questions, PM me and I'll get DH to answer them...(And I changed my avvie to get you used to aeroplanes...its DH doing his day job....)
Snaggs-why do underwriters have to work weekends then?Debt-free...and staying that way...0 -
Thanks SRM - you're very kind. Might do that nearer the time when the nerves kick in.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

Suzy, is there any way you can let your doc know and see if you can try a light dose of Diazepam? It might knock you out enough so you don't notice, used to take 5mg ones. Don't think you'd like my anti-psychs, they knock anyone out and the emergency doc when I had an asthma attack was gobsmacked at my daily dose (although they don't work as much as they used to - 400mg isn't enough it seems)
Snags, isn't it boring working this late for a bank? Bet the pay's good tho. Pint's bro will probably be made redundant in June as they're closing the office he works at - he does insurance sales.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

Might do that Elfen. Last time I went to the Drs was before my honeymoon (Thailand) so a long flight too. He prescribed beta-blockers but they were next to useless. I might see if I can get the fear of flying course on the NHS.....:)YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

Well, the underwriters aren't 24 hours, we are there till 11pm weekdays and 10pm weekends. But it's part of the bank's image that we are constantly available, so having underwriters there till late means people can ring for mortgages and stuff late at night, to fit around their lifestyles.
It's not too boring actually - they're a nice company to work for and the underwriting team is lovely, we have a laugh. It was fairly quiet tonight though.
The pay would be great if I could do it full time - I only do 16 hours per week though, so I never feel particularly well paid, especially towards the end of the month! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

NO WAY.....are you serious??
I was on a flight once where the plane "dropped" (not sure of the technical term) and 300 odd breakfasts flew up and hit the roof of the plane. Boy, that was a mess and a half. Needless to say I was a complete wreck for the rest of the journey.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
