I've all but finished my decorating!

My Dad built the bed up on Friday - was a bit mortified on Saturday when he asked if it had survived the night......don't think he had thought through what he was asking! :eek: :rotfl:

Hope you're all well this morning?

Just made my Christmas Cake - I think I might have soaked the fruit in a tad too much brandy.

I'm watching the Remberance Sunday thing on BBC1 and the eyes are a tad moist! It doesn't help that my OH is over there until next year and I know he's safe, but sometimes the mind goes a 'tad crazy' with worry!

Sorry didn't mean to go on, I'm thankful that he's safe and my heart goes out to everyone who has lost someone special.

LMC it must be really hard for you. There are a couple of people on here with partners serving abroad and I think you all cope incredibly well. Thinking of you and your OH. x

Thank you Snaggles, we're use to being apart but it's at this time of the year I find it hard.

The most important thing is to make the most of the time we've got together when he's home.

Am pretty tired as I slept on the sofa due to Pint eating kebabs and stinking the house out

Hugs LMC, I'd hate to be in your position.

I was going to start my xmas cake today (delia says to leave the ingredients mixed overnight before baking) but can't be arsed going out for the ingredients. I was wondering if using bols cherry or apricot brandy might work? Cos it's cheaper than normal brandy, which I don't drink. Not that I drink the fruit brandy either, but it's less money to waste.

Snaggs, now you've got an excuse for friday, you had to quality control test the bed before the warranty ran out!

Hi elfin,

You poor thing having to sleep on the sofa. Kebab smells aren't nice,e spcially when they're mixed with copious amounts of pints!

I used Tesco value mixed fruit and my mum donated a bottle of Spanish Brandy! In all honesty I think that will be fine, it will enhance the taste of the fruit!

:rotfl: It's not a new bed unfortunately - it's just my old bed that has been cut down to fit into the gap in my new room. Good thinking but I'm afraid there was no excuse, I just wanted to. :rotfl:

LMC - was a combo of beer, kebab and whatever else he'd been near. all I can remember - was half asleep at the time, was shouting at him to f*ck off with his kebab stench and leave me alone
