    What a great idea!

Trouble is that I don't think I will meet anyone else now. I am 48 and don't go anywhere to meet anyone, so I get very sad when I think is that it for me now! Have I really had my last sh**, which makes it all to easy to think well he is better than nothing! Not that he has asked me back, but he made it obvious that if I was willing I could have stayed the night, and could do any time.

    OMG you could be me.

Thank you everyone, it is nice that you all understand what I am saying and meaning. It isn't easy when a relationship ends and I suppose everyone feels that they will never meet anyone again, so i will just try to stay positive!

Have you thought of a fear of flying course Suze? VS do them, and get very good results.....what is it that bothers you about flying??

Yes, I've looked into it, but they are £200 and I just can't justify that at the moment. It's the crashing part that bothers me. Even when I talk about it I get nightmares that night.... I'm just so scared of crashing. Logically I know all the statistics ie. I'm safer than travelling in a car etc but fear is fear...logic goes out of the window.

I do get on a plane so it can't be a full-blown phobia, but I can't eat, I'm in the loo every half hour and every engine noise has me clutching my arm rests and praying ferverently. I know I'm not alone in this, but I can't tell you how scared I am.

Suzy, I do this all the time. I have to take tablets to stop me freaking - either Diazepam or an extra dose of my anti-psychotics

You couldn't sneak a few my way could you? I've tried hypnosis, beta-blockers, gin and tonic ;) and I once took a friend's mother's sleeping tablet. That was my best flight as I slept 8 out of the 12 hours. I usually start on the Rescue Remedy a week before I fly and that takes the edge off, but it's still paralysing.

  • Well , logic has no place when it comes to fear...can you not get everyone to chip in for your Christmas pressie maybe? Car engines make different noises, depending on how hard they are working don't they? Just the same..oh, and VS haven't had a crash-nearest they came was when Tim had the landing gear problem..all went well... another mate of ours (known as Maq the Pak) is a VS skipper....are you flying on a Jumbo or Airbus do you know?We have 2 Virgin skippers in our village-one of which lectures on the FOF courses...(JJ The Jet-pilot is his village nickname...)
