I'm with the Halifax as well but my current bal is circa £42.2k. My DD usually leaves my CA on 1st. At the same time I notice the Halifax put the months interest on the balance. Then on the 2nd the Mortgage balance is adjusted to reflect that months payment.

This time my account wasn't updated until today (Mortgage payment left CA yesterday due to BH) and bizarrely the balance was £10 more than my SS said it would be. The balance is usually a couple of pounds under what the SS say's its going to be.

So sorry I don't have an explanation..........but mine isn't as it is usually either. And for the difference you are talking about I'd definitely ring them up!

yes that happens with me usually as well, it was £80,220 ish on Monday (after interest of £239) and my MP is £696 so the figure must be right then :j

I think with yours it might be a couple of extra days interest as it wasnt done on the 1st maybe?
    MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
EMFD was Feb 32  NOW Dec 2013 its Dec 2016
MF new target Dec 16 REACHED!! :j

£490 overpayment going in tomorrow. Would have been £200 more but put that towards our savings as we are both starting new jobs soon...peace of mind and all that!

I bet you'll think I'm an on-line stalker :rotfl:I know we both have shared-ownership places, with similar overpayment targets..I'm also starting a new job soon as well (I'm an accountant though, so hoping we're not in the same field)

Unfortunately my monthly overpayment is just for £350, but once the wedding is out the way I'm hoping to increase it..

Ello pigtails, yeah we are thinking of making our monthly OP for about £350-400 as a standing order. It is usually anything from 300 to 600 quid a month but we are getting married next year or 2012 and need to save for that!

Have you got any wedding plans? I'm hoping for 2011 but I think my OH would prefer 2012 as longer to save. My preference is to get married abroad, to keep costs down, but also because we have a mortgage and a four year old. I know many may disagree with how we've done things, but for me all that matters is that other half and DD are there (parents would be nice as well, but that's it)..my other preference for 2011 is it means we will start putting a lot more to the mortgage sooner.

When I'm not thinking about my mortgage, I spend half my time looking for that perfect place that doesn't have a bad review on trip advisor...would love any recommendations anyone has..especially if they do weddings

Yeah we are considering doing it abroad, obviously not everyone will be there but my advice is do what's best for you and what you can afford. If you are getting no help from others why put yourself in debt, especially with a four year old to take care of! Good luck

I have been reading through the threads for inspiration and I have decided that as well as setting a target for the amount of overpayments that I would like to make on my mortgage that I would also like to set a target of when I should have paid off a certain amount of my mortgage. I think it will give me a bit more inspiration as I can then feel that I am achieving something.

I would like to get my mortgage under £162,000 by 31 December 2010.

As I've hit my 2010 target of £10,000, I think I may amend my target to £14,000 for 2010. Just paid another £600 off
