I shouldn't be on here today. . . supposed to be writing essays. I've got 6500 words due by week Wednesday. Trying to get 1000 done today and 1000 tomorrow but haven't written anything today yet arrrgghh. At least I've made this months OP - £152.15 (number 65), and read all the posts and checked the internet for cheap deals on a freeview box and looked up what's on in my local area and read the BBC news website, and done the washing up and the ironing and the hoovering and found my passport etc etc. Never has an unproductive day been so productive.

Off to write that elusive first 1000 words. Wish me luck chaps!

Good luck, hope you managed to make a start on the essay. So heartened to read your post and know I wasn't the only one who spent the whole day trying to produce long essays - although I only have to produce 9 pages, a little short of yours. Mine has to be handed in by Thursday so pressure on. My hope is the qualification (HNC) will help promotion prospects

Our situations are so similar it's scary, our house value also dropped about the same!! Do u have a diary on here?

The £500 overpayments are a few month away yet but can't wait forour fix to finish so I can start!!

Hiya Baby steps, I don't have a diary on here, what is a diary?! I'm new to the MSE forums but always wanting to try anything to give me some motivation!

£500 overpayments, wow! I wish I could overpay that amount. Our mortgage is just to high at the moment, hence trying to make the overpayments!!

Hope yu are doing well and hope to add on my overpayment on here soon as soon as all my monthly payments have gone out :(

    Hi, 139 here

Only managed a paltry £40 OP this month which I'm not at all happy with. It's pathetic especially when considering my regular payment is only £290!! I'm fairly careful with my cash so not sure exactly where it all goes (well I do really as I have this spending and forecast spreadsheet - but haven't had to spend on anything particularly significant so it's annoying that I can't OP more). Ah well.........a small OP is better than none and at least I'm still on target having now OP'd £1054 out of this years target of £2000

    Well done to everyone else

Don't feel bad Curly girl. My payment is only £190 and i only managed to overpay £37 last month. The point is that we are trying and we will get there quicker for doing it.

curlygirl1971, I'm with the others - any OP, however large or small, is an OP - and even £1 now saves money in the long term :D At the beginning of this year I had plans to OP about 15-20K on the mtge - no such luck now, and I think I will struggle to schieve my target of 10K - but I know that every bit that I do OP really does make a difference (after all, my spreadsheet tells me so! ;))

    Morning All,

A pretty tight month last month with loans to family members, birthday presents, wedding presents, TV license and professional memberships to pay so the emergency fund is depleted a wee bit but we've managed to get in just under the wire with the scheduled overpayment - the good news is that is takes us to under the £20k mark so a very happy day.

    Normal payment - £827.06
    Interest accrued - £23.99
    Total Overpayment - £1,845.92
    Total May Payment - £2,672.98
    Mortgage Outstanding - £18,375

Well done to everyone for keeping the overpayments flowing.

    Cheers,

    Billy (#17)
