OPs of £976.24 for April so just about on target at the third of the way stage.

Just realised that my OPs to date probably mean that I, not the BS, am now the proud owner of the disused chimney stack that appears to be leaking rainwater through my dinning room ceiling. I guess I'll be reporting lower figures for the next couple of months as any Ops may well be diverted towards the repair bill!

No 20 reporting in. Not such a good month, lots of o/s bills to pay and finishing off home improvements :( .....but on the plus side, boosted by a little magazine competition win :).

Total for the month was £364.52. Total so far is £1963.48. Ahead of target but not my as much as I'd like :D

    Keep it up everyone.

Don't worry Puddle, you've got time to make up. We started what we thought was a small decorating job before Xmas, ended up in a lot more work and it's only now we've finally got there and paid the last bill but try and put a few pence the way of the mortgage if you can, just to make you feel like you are still doing something. I did it by joining daily click sites and redeeming the amount owing as soon as it came through and paying it off the mortgage, with that and a money pot for small change that made up nearly £50 of my total this month.

    Good luck.

Am I the only one thinking how apt your user name is.........

User name was chosen because it has a very different association for me.
It is however a very apt name as water through ceilings and I have a long history. Prior to moving here I lived in the ground floor flat of a beautiful regency building. Firstly the boiler upstairs sprang a leak and poured water through my newly decorated bedroom ceiling - the resultant stain (absolutely central over my bed) was a very interesting phallic shape! Two years later it was the turn of the washing machine upstairs (not such an interesting stain). Finally I decided to downsize, put the flat on the market and promptly had to take it off again. This time the toilet cistern upstairs spontaneously fractured and I had gallons of (clean) water pouring through two bedroom ceilings, the hall and the lounge ceilings, walls, electricity sockets etc. The fire brigade had to break in upstairs to turn the water off (about the only day I hadn't a key for that flat) and lance all my ceilings to stop them collapsing. One major insurance claim later I moved. Current leakage is in comparison only a minor inconvenience and has chosen the awfully tasteful 1980's mock pine beams and artex ceiling that I fully intended to replace to damage.

Thanks for the advice Little Mama -I will continue overpaying but at a lesser rate. Am just annoyed as I really want rid of this mortgage asap so I can cut my hours at work and wind down towards retirement.

I shouldn't be on here today. . . supposed to be writing essays. I've got 6500 words due by week Wednesday. Trying to get 1000 done today and 1000 tomorrow but haven't written anything today yet arrrgghh. At least I've made this months OP - £152.15 (number 65), and read all the posts and checked the internet for cheap deals on a freeview box and looked up what's on in my local area and read the BBC news website, and done the washing up and the ironing and the hoovering and found my passport etc etc. Never has an unproductive day been so productive.

Off to write that elusive first 1000 words. Wish me luck chaps!

N0 91 reporting £400 overpayment this month. Just realised this will take my overpayments this year to £2000 - almost at £2200 target set for this year - yippee looks like target can be raised to give me another aim. With my C&G tracker mortgage low interest rate am able to overpay by £400 per month, long may it continue.
