Hooray, my other half paid in our first 2010 OP today! :j £1K is now winging its way to our account (so long as Abbey don't !!!! it up as usual!).

We are miles behind our target (which was already very optimistic!) and we are also hoping to put some money into savings and pay for a holiday. Think I had better raid the tuppence jar! ;)

Well done everyone OPing and trying to OP, keep up the great work!

2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.

  • Hello!
    No. 107 checking in.....

February's overpayment has cleared of £1050 -
Also I've been looking at our finances and decided to up my target for this year to £20,000 overpayment - this will mostly come from saving accounts which I've allowed to fester in pathetic low interest earning accounts.

My plan is still to hit the mortgage hard before April (when baby no. 2 is due) - as, if previous experience is anything to go by, I won't be capabable of much when the sleepless nights start again!

Also trying to keep a lid on our spending - particularly groceries. We seem to spend so much on shopping compared to most. It's particularly annoying when my wonderful DH goes shopping and comes back with six bottles of wine which I can't drink :(

I've changed my target from £3,500 to £4,000 on the spreadsheet. Is that right?? Think we could aim that extra bit higher
