  • No. 25 reporting in with a slightly early overpayment. It won't have an effect on my mortgage until 2010 though so I think it counts! Today's overpayment was £400 so off to a good start.

Happy New year to all the 2010 MFW

  • Hello, can I sign up?

My mortgage balance is about £22,500, which I'm hoping to pay off in 2010

My monthly payment is £575.76, which includes a £400 overpayment. If it all goes to plan then as well as the monthly overpayments I will make one off lump sum payments to clear the balance by the end of 2010

I've been inspired by many of the stories on here and cant wait to join the mortgage free club!

    Many Thanks

  • I am now an MFW2010 er.

I have £10,800 left of a £90,000 mortgage I took out a few years back.

Ambition - to pay it off this year especially as interest rates may start going back up.

First overpayment in January is already committed to - £40.00 on top of my regular payment of £98.00

  • Hello everyone
I'd like to join in too, please. I started looking at the MFW strings when we were housebound because of the weather before Xmas, and have been inspired by everybody's stories - so thanks to you all.
    I'm pledging a total 2010 overpayment of £3000 @ £250 a month.
    Happy new year.

Happy New Year to all, Can I be added to this years list please.
    Target to OP £12000.
Not sure whether this will be achievable as DH may end up negotaiting a payoff from work at some point. As things are at the moment either the Managing Director will go or DH will before the end of the year.
  • Well, just waiting for a closing balance from the illustrious Northern Rock (?!) before remortgage. When we get this, we will know what our first overpayment will be ( in the order of 2k, frighteningly). First mortgage challenge to get it under 240k.eeeek!
