Well done Moniker!
No 20 limping in (imagine old banger being pushed over finishing line!)....these last couple of months have been/are a bit of a challenge, we're going to hit target but it's been a lot harder than at the beginning of the year....sign of the times, I guess.
Overpayment of £290.89 in November, making total overpaid since January £4866.55.
Huge thanks to Cake for doing this, it's really kept me going even on days when I think "oh sod it, I want a treat!", I've held back because the treat will be beating that target!
Keep up the good work everyone.

We've reached and passed out target before our December OP is made. By the end of the year we'll have reached £1,164.65 which is relatively small fry compared to some on here, but every little helps.
Massive thanks to Cake for the work this year and for volunteering for next year. I for one will be rejoining the challenge ASAP with a larger target!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
ok,
i havent been here for a very long time for one reason or another but i have tried to stick to my goals for overpaying!
you may recall my target was pretty ambitious to start with, well i needed to withdraw an additional £40K against Overpayments already made making the challenge that but larger!
tonight i will be writing a cheque to the mortgage company for £105K which covers the money i have withdrawn as well as going past the target we had set!
congratulations to everyone on here who has stuck with it and supported each other! wish you all a merry christmas and happy new year!MFWannabe2010 #114: Target £40,000 for 2010
Overpaid to date...

No. 66 reporting in for the final time in 2010 with OPs of £350 for both Nov. and Dec.
I set what seemed a realistic target of £12000 when I signed up for this challenge but think I have roughly a £2.500 shortfall (I'm sure Cake will confirm the exact amount at some point - thank you for all your hard work in running the challenge). My crystal ball obviously wasn't working properly when I joined as I ( but all positives)
1) failed to foresee the lousy weather at the start at 2010 that exposed all the flaws in the outside of my little house (Knew those in the inside). At the end of 2010 I can at least say the heat stays in and the weather stays out although like everyone else I'm not looking forward to my winter fuel bills
2) Depressed daughter (with aid of bank of mum) finally put words into action and moved back to the area she grew up in. Result happy bubbly girl I once knew back, man of her dreams arrives in her life so a very money saving wedding in August next year, a son in law for me and a much needed hands on father for my very special grandson
3) work for NHS and knew some of the financial challenges it faced but obviously not all its implications for my salary. In a nutshell it doesn't make financial sense to work all the hours God sends so I've discovered what most of you probably already knew - there is such a thing as a weekend, it consists of at least one or sometimes even two days and bank holidays - well they are are holidays so a much better work/life balance for me
4) Nearly forgot - am somewhat nearer being MF
Thanks again Cake - hope to join you again in 2011 with a more modest target (have to help with a wedding)
To those who achieved your targets well done. To those who became MF a massive round of applause and to all thanks for your support in the 2010 challenge and of course seasons greetings to you all

No 60 reporting final total for 2010, £639.29 for December and £11941.69 for the year. Bit gutted I just cant squeeze out the £58.31 to round it up to 12K.
Thank you so much for doing the challenge this year cake we all appreciate it.
Look forward to seeing you all on the other side0 -
Hi Guys n' Cake
Hope you are all well
It's been fab seeing the recent MF graduates - very motivational. And just generally having like-minded people to talk to and get ideas from is very helpful.
I've been OP'ing since June 2008 although most of it in the past year. I've now knocked 28 months off my mortgage. Am very pleased although my challenge / target is small-fry compared to some on here. But mildly annoyed because there have certainly been moments when I could have done better.
My total OP's this year £2861 and don't think there will be another OP before the end of the year (unless a miracle occurs and we are lucky enough to get Xmas bonus this year). Exceeded target so that's good.
Need to up the ante in the New Year - I've been a bit naughty and careless recently and although I have no CC debt and no OD, I 'owe' myself some money back (I know what I mean - it's my fancy spreadsheet accouting) and need to get straight again and find extra money for OP'ing. Not sure how long it will take me to get back into the black (on spreadsheet) and when I will start finding extra bits to OP
Right off to update Googledocs.......
Many thanks Cake! Oh - how are we doing it for next year? Setting a new target?0 -
oh gosh I've obviously managed to mess up google docs at somepoint.
By accidentally lying it appears that I've reported total OP's this year of 2866 whereas in actual fact it is 2861. Please don't hold it against me. Please don't cast me out. It was accidental0
