why is it.. at this time of the year, and now that any surplus money is now being thrown at our mortgage you get those flipping blips happening..
last week my dryer packed up.... ok i was lucky as we had a spare in work..
saturday night hubby's car broke down... had to be towed hone at 3.30 in the morning £175:eek: ( going to join the rac or aa typical)
then last night our washing machine packed up too:mad:, so no extra money to throw at the mortage this week...BOOOOOOOOOOO
but on the bright side.. we have got the funds to pay for it... going back a few years ago... this would have totally knocked us off our feet even just one of those things.....
so I am soooooooooooooooo glad for this site... :TWork to live= not live to work0 -

If you mean am I willing to run this one and start up a 2011 thread simultaneously, definitely not, got Christmas overindulging to be getting on with
I didnt mean to do anything extra cake21. You are a star to offer to carry it on, it must be very time consuming!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

MFW #48 reporting in
Eleventh overpayment of 2010 made on the 15th November 2010
Overpayment target: £2760
October overpayment : £400 (increased from £250)
Overpayments to date: £3350 (Original target acheived :j)
My overall mortgage status is now:
Mortgage at 16/10/2010
Outstanding balance: £49,972 (below 50K... yay!)
Estimated endowment value: £25,542 (revalued @21/10/2010)
Investments: £14,413 (up since beginning of year:) and now on track to help me meet my Sept 2012 target (see below):j)
Deficit: -£10,017 (frustratingly short of £10,000.....;))
For my information on the damage I'm doing to the mortgage, here's the link to my diary...
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...1854517&page=2
My overpayments since Jan 09 will also save me an estimated £1,115 before my target MF date of September 2014.
My overpayment reserve is £6,350, well over 17 months regular mortgage payments :T.
Although I have hit my overpayment target, there are one or two other things that I am also considering. One of them is aiming for September 2012 as a possible date for mortgage freedom. The spreadsheet tells me that one more overpayment should do it, but I would then need to monitor endowment and investment progress carefully to acheive it:shhh:
Keep keeping up everyone!
Thanks Cake!

Good news- OH is starting a new job tomorrow after being on JobSeekers since 1st September (less than £70 a fortnight) to 50% more than he used to earn- whoop-whoop! :T:T:T:T:T
Its a six month contract- we think this is just a standard thing for new employees as its a big company. Hopefully he can get his contract renewed before the end of the 6 months as that's when our baby is due.
Christmas pressies mostly sorted, only got to buy something for a one year old, something for a four year old, 2 secret santa pressies and something for my OH.:D
Big expenditure- got to buy a car. We've managed with one since buying the house in 2005 but with OH's new work location and hours mean we need another asap. Plus it will be useful with the baby on the way to have a car each. Might draw down on the Mortgage OP reserve to help pay for the car.
Well done to everyone so far this year- I can't wait to see our 2010 total. Thanks to Cake for all your hard work- and thanks for offering to keep us all on the straight and narrow in 2011. I'll be there- although I haven't a clue about a target yet.:T:T:T:T:T2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Great news Fluffysox :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Mortgage Balance = £0
