Hi! all, haven't met our target for the last couple of months. Hoping to now get things reigned in and catch up for the end of year target. Hoping to make a lump sum payment in the next month or so that will bring us back on track.
Keep going everyone.0 -

No. 44 reporting in for June.
Overpayments for June were £273.48. Total for year to date is £4883.87. Is it possible to change my target to £7000? I'm not sure if I will actually make this target (see below) but I'll definately make my original target this month and now need a new goal to aim for.
Update on the horse situation. I have been looking for the 'right' horse for a couple of months now, however a couple of weeks ago the horse that I currently ride came up for part loan, so I decided to go with that instead. It means that livery costs, etc are less than they would be for my own horse and I don't have to use my 'mortgage overpayment' savings to buy it in the first place. This means that I can continue to overpay my mortgage, though just not as much as I have been. I may decide in the future that I would still like my own horse but for the time being (certainly until the mortgage has gone) this arrangement suits me perfectly.

Not sure how much more we'll be able to do - DH's contract finishes next week and he has nothing lined up -so no income coming in - may need to revise my yearly OP target downwards.....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Well Hello MFW's, almost there. After July payment I am now left with a mortgage balance of just £321. Three years ago it was over £30k but a concerted drive, helped by all the contributors to this forum, has taken me to the brink of being MF.
However, as mentioned last post, I have now bought a new kitchen including appliances with a 0% CC. My other 0% CC will be used to buy granite worktops. I was intending to spread the remaining mortgage over the 2nd half of 2010 (£160/mth) and use the available funds to pay off as much of the credit balance within the 0% term. However, I decided to just clear it off and be mortgage free.
Keep up the good work everyone, you'll get there in the end :TMortgage free

OMG!! today has been another lightbulb moment. Whilst on the phone to the B/S, the advisor said she thought our buildings and contents insurance was a little high. They couldnt get it any cheaper but I decided to get a couple of online quotes. Well, instead of paying £58 a month we can get the similar cover for between £25 and £30 a month. That will be another £30 going to the mortgage pot. Why didnt I do this earlier she says :eek:Mortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j0

£392 paid in for last month...we are probably going to put a 'limit' on overpaying £300pm from now till the end of the year (this means we reach our target with some spare) as we have so much going on and our own wedding to save up for.
Well done everyone, still glad I found this site, mainly because of this OP malarkey!0
