we always know when my gran is here in spirit visiting, at first the dog and cat used to act strange and whine, look at the chair were she used to sit,
now we can smell her, the perfume she always used to wear, and the animals jump and sit on her chair, the cat is the funniest, as she arches her back like she is being stroked, but thats only when she visits
you wouldnt believe it until you saw it, and no we arent all barkin mad;)

My Dog has always sat and stared at things since she was a puppy. At first that freaked me out, now it just does that to visitors! If she is sitting beside me on the settee she just stares intently at a piece of it. At first I kept thinking we had fleas LOL

At the moment I have a dog frightened of the Fireworks cuddling up to me. Just going to burn some Lavender oil again.

  • my dog keeps barking at the front door as if someone is there - he is usually never wrong but I've checked about 6 times now and there is no one there!
he keeps squashing himself under the kitchen counter as well. It must be the fireworks even though I can hardly hear them

Well I'm not sure what to make of his behaviour last night because there are fireworks going off tonight and all he's done is look towards the window and then sit down.

He doesn't seem concerned and he's not looking around or unsettled as he was before. So, either there was something weird going on (which I'd really rather it wasn't) or it was the fireworks and he's got used to the noises since last night.

I really don't know. I'm just pleased he's not doing the same thing. Thanks for all your replies.

I guarantee it'll be a fly. Mine have been acting weird for a couple of weeks - Dolly looking at the wall, Tia shaking & trembling, then i noticed a fly - apparently because of the change in weather this year the flies hibernated and have come out now that the heating is on - has your house got wooden beams or anything as this is also a major factor in the fly thing - we only get one (and there big ones!) and then the next night there'll be a different one! Tia's been trying to climb on my shoulders and all sorts! You could try some rescue remedy to relax your dog.

i firmly believe our furry pals can see spirits and ghosts, now i know im going to get slated for this, but hey ho.

I completely agree with you :)

  • They can definatly see spirits--my two old girls(bermese sisters) did this regularly-and I know we had a spirit in the house cos we had seen him!
Whatever it is hes seeing-it wont hurt you!

"He seems ok now, he's not allowed on the furniture or to jump up on us but he had his paws on my shoulders when I was sat on the couch and was trying to get his back legs up on my lap. If I wasn't so creeped out, I'd have found it funny."

  • The stuff on TV - like 'orbs' is all BS as a result of light falling on polarised lenses and similar effects. DD2 is learning how to create similar in her photography classes. There's always money involved, one way or another, with those people.

However, I have had cats 'chasing faeries' quite frequently - and behaving like your dog (other than barking, obviously), things leap off the shelves in front of us and, to great amusement to all of us, have had ice cold patches beside me, follow me round and one time, alternately 'hold' my left hand/arm and then, when joked about, swap to take my right hand - and back again on request. Proper, icy cold patches that you could feel had a defined edge. I can't explain that one away, no matter how hard I might try.

However, you could also have had bats flying over your place sending the dog doolally with their echolocating clicks and 'zaps' to moths.

Probably something natural (and alive), but I think you'll be fine, whatever it is.

My sisters dog has been behaving more or less the same for weeks now. He`ll try and get into the most tightest places to hide from something. Its freaking my sister out specially since someone told her it could be a ghost. The bloke who used to live next door killed his wife, hid her body for 10days then killed himself !!
I personally think its either his wife`s or his spirit disturbing the poor little dog, cos there`s no other explanation as to why its behaving like this all of a sudden.
