sounds either like you have mice moving in. or you have a spirit visitor. the last is easiest to get rid of. will PM you ok? as i have no wish to be pilloried on here.

He seems ok now, he's not allowed on the furniture or to jump up on us but he had his paws on my shoulders when I was sat on the couch and was trying to get his back legs up on my lap. If I wasn't so creeped out, I'd have found it funny.

He's back to normal now and is away to bed.

I don't think he was hearing mice, we've never had mice round our way before, but you never know.

The local firestation will be setting fireworks off tomorrow so I'll keep an eye on him and see if he acts the same way. I'm hoping he does and I'll be able to discount the ghost theory.

Weather is ok, slight rain but that's it.

I am female, and if I'm pregnant it would have to be by immaculate conception, lol.

I haven't heard a firework all evening, but the blooming dog's heard plenty ! Earlier he tried to get behind the curtains, until he realised that was worse, and he's been gawping at the walls and the ceilings.

Has he been just staring? Harley has been looking slowly, like he's following something but his eyes have also been darting around too. Feel daft saying this but I remember watching a ghost watch thing on tv and seeing what they classed as orbs darting about, that's exactly what I thought of as soon as he started doing it. I know how daft it sounds, it was just freaky watching him, I was getting to the stage where I wanted to phone someone else to come round. :o

Yes, thanks. Got an open mind.
  • I know everyone will laugh but we have had it seriously looked into, but we have two sprits who live in our house, our daughter and one of my friends can see them. The dog isnt bothered about them at all.

I did have a bit of a giggle to myself at the picture you put in my mind about giving him a cuddle, my 13 month old black lab sits on my lap, we think that he thinks he is a yorkshire terrier size. He likes his cuddles though.
If you want the rainbow you have to go through the rain.

DMP start jan 2012 hopefull finish march 2020

Weight to loose 49lbs done of 91lbs finally sat in a pair of size 14 jeans and top for the first time in 14 years :j
  • A few times, my dog has stared at something in the room and then jumped to hide behind me on the settee (and he is never allowed on the furniture).

Don't panic, even if he can see something you can't, it won't hurt you, and if, on the other hand, he can hear fireworks, they won't hurt you either
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

You mustn't watch the same films as me then? _pale_ :)
  • Trust me, you have watched too many horror films. It's not the dead you have to be afraid of ;)

Just had another thought, there were fireworks last night so if he was listening for them tonight, how come he didn't act like that then?
  • Its definitely the fireworks. Our old dog used to be like this.
