Evening everyone.
I've had an interesting day. I still haven't done a lot for the FLC, but i am still on top of the rooms i had made a dent in, and scrubbed around the bathroom taps with an old tooth brush.
2 loads through the WM. We've been a bit poor on the food front, as we went and had lunch out at the local pub. Very yummy though.
I've also been very productive at the shops. My pin money is looking really healthy as mothercare was having a sale, so i got some of the baby bits of the list, and then went to boots to cash in on some of the freebies from joining the parenting club. I got £58 worth of stuff for £18. I also had some pigsback vouchers.
So, i now have PJs so i can sleep comfortably, all my toiletries for the hospital, a baby changing mat, steam steriliser and breast pump, an outfit for a wedding we are going to, a pack of nappies, and quite a few other bits.
I then came home and did a thorough inventory of everything we have for little pud, and i think i am nearly there for the first 9 months of us buying stuff, and that is without rellies buying us things and the black binbags of clothes and other stuff from my sisters.
Plan for tomorrow - i have a set of reports to write, and some lesson planning to do, and we are hopefully starting the living room. Or DH is planning on taking a sledgehammer to the york stone fireplace. I will be making sure my ornaments are safely packed away before he starts.
Hubbie just came in from work so i'd best log off and talk to him.

Back on here whilst the footie is on. OH has given me special permission! Aren't I lucky  ?
PP - glad that you had a lovely time. Did you bring us back a stick of rock each?
Decided that the house that we went for a 2nd viewing for today was too small. Ok, so it was a 3 bedroomed house BUT you could have fitted a bed into only one of those rooms. What's the point? Plus there was no storage space, and I've got an awful lot of essential, high quality items that I need to store carefully (ok, so it's mostly junk that I can't be parted from ). Hey ho, more houses out there to look at. Plus there's not much around........... honest.
Been at the future in-laws this evening. They gave us supper and our wedding present! Quite a bonus as it's not our wedding for another 5 weeks
Better go and read my book as I'm quite addicted and I've nearly finished it!

Evening everyone - (is it still saturday by the time i get on here!??)
I sort of watched saturday kitchen but kept flicking onto itv to watch anthonys new prog!
Had a good day, just popped to lakeside to bank (no going in shops - not on a day like today) - then took kids to park for kick about!
watched doctor who (first time ive actually sat down and watched something other than CBEEBIES!!! ), waited for DS to go asleep before coming on here, but he was still awake at 9.10!! hence im so late getting here!
pp - glad you had a nice time, welcome back.
vickya - better house coming along for you soon
Snowyowl - laughed at the jack russell story - my DH loves jack russells, the scraggier and scruffier the better! I was really coming round to the idea of getting a cat but then something you posted the other day reminded of something and now i'm not too sure - CAT HAIRS!!!!0 -
Does it take everyone else a long time to read all the posts????
and does anyone know what PenPen is wearing to garden party so we can look out for her on tv?
MP - hope you have a good time at Take That!
snowyowl - just noticed someone has started a feng shui thread -that will be good!0 -
Hiya Shez - yes, I noticed the Feng Shui thread, I'm so glad it's back. What a shame the other one was locked, it was v.informative and fun.
Shez - the cat hairs are a real nuisance, but that's because one of my little monsters is long-haired and he sheds a lot, specially in spring. I had three short-haired furbabies before, and while there was cat hair it wasn't much effort to keep it under control - a good clothes brush was all that was needed. Ted and his big thick and silky luxury coat is a totally different ball game.
You could get a bald cat (yes really!)...they may be quite expensive and quite rare, but they exist! There is also a cat with a sort of woolly/soft wirey coat, which is less likely to irritate people who are allergic to normal cat hair. Can't remember what the breed is called, but now that I think of it maybe it's a type that Catznine might be interested in??
If you want to keep OH happy though, a little scruffy Jack Russell puppy might be just the ticket. Your children would love it too, except when it does a poo then that'd be your job. OK, don't tell your OH I suggested it...
I've just made some apple & bran muffins, they are it supposed to have oat bran in, but I put in wheat bran - think I made a booboo. I may be eating sawdust textured muffins for the coming week.

Morning all
Come on Ladeeeez up and at em!!!:rotfl:
Sorry, only joking!
The Mogs proclaims this a day of rest, (unless you really have to of course)
Me I am taking the day off until 5.30 when I will kick in with ironing, cooking, bathing etc all in time to get the rugrats off to school first thing on Monday morning (why can't schools open at 6am and close at 7pm) apologies to the teachers, perhaps you could work shifts?
After a day studying the fine print of DS's school report (and still not understanding a word of it (the jist was could do better) replacing guitar strings and having XDH criticise my garden (you're only jealous you old git because my cabbages are the size of footballs and yours are just the size of balls!) I considered pulling up one of my cabbages and smashing him over the head with it but as that would totally ruin the look of my garden putting a 6 foot garden gnome in the middle I gave it a miss.
The floor that I so lovingly went down on my hands and knees to beautify was wrecked by his dirty great clodhoppers traipsing all over it, (I'll just stick the mop where the sun don't shine next time) but it can wait until Monday.
Tomorrow I am watching the whole of Tales From the Green Valley which Amazon kindly delivered to me in record time and debating how long it would take me to build a privy
Have a great day everyone.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

am not surprised the thread was locked it had 599 posts!
I find it takes me so long reading all the posts on threads that by the time i come to post a message everyone has gone to bed!! I need to learn to speed read.
Bald Cat!!!!! - I think that defeats the object of having something soft/fluffy to stroke to reduce stress??!!! I used to have an old English Sheepdog, and do like dogs, but i cant with two young kids - well not in this house its not big enough - and with going back to work i wont have time to take it out etc. The other thing that puts me off getting another pet is the costs!!! I think vets fees are getting astronomical!!! everyones got pet insurance nowadays and heard stories of them getting out of paying (as typical with all insurances i find) When i were a kid, you took you dog down the PDSA and put a donation in the box, now everyones gone private.
I think alot more people would have pets and there wouldnt be so many needing homes if it wasnt for the costs - im sure alot of people just cant afford it!0 -
Hiya Shez! Yes, I'm still up. Have just taken my muffins out of the oven. They are jet black, ie burnt to a cinder. Haven't done that for a long time!0

That was heart attack time moggins....
I'm off back to my darkened room to lie down :rotfl:0
